With the "Greatest Show on Turf" & defending Super Bowl champ Rams in control of momentum, 1:51 left in the game, and needing just a field goal to force OT after the Saints had run out to a huge lead early in the Wild Card playoff game between the 2 NFC West foes at the time.

Saints punter Toby Gowen "hangs it high, angling towards the near sideline"... and then future Saint Az Hakim did the 2nd most notable thing he did with punts... drops it.

Brian Milne slid in and fell on the ball 1st to secure the Saints 1st ever playoff victory in franchise history 31-28

Winning that game was a huge deal, we hadn't won shite until that day.

I thought we were gonna crush the Vikings the next week......... .

I was returning from a business trip and missed almost all of the game. I rushed home hoping to see the end and got in and turned on the TV just in time to see Milne's recovery. Having watched the Saints from their first season in 1967 and having had season tickets from 1984-86, I saw a lot of misery. This helped to ease that pain!

It's a bit disturbing when one realizes that the Saints first ever playoff victory was only 20 years ago.

Whew! The Saints have come a long way since then, courtesy of Coach Sean Payton and Mr. Drew Christopher Brees.

I was back in my original seats in 639 for that game. It was just unreal. Brian Milne’s mustache game was on point as well. Don’t forget the voodoo priestess with the python out at the 50 yard line before the game to ward off the bad spirits. That is something that Roger Goodell would never in a million years allow to happen now.

But seriously what an awesome moment in time

I was there in the plaza end zone. Great game. The dome exploded when he dropped the ball.

I was there!

Club section, paid face value for the tickets on Christmas Day via TicketMaster’s website. I was surprised the game wasn’t sold out by then but I wasn’t complaining.

I was 19, took my dad. He and I also saw the Saints’ first playoff game, so it was fitting we saw the first ever playoff win, too.

When STL scored 21 unanswered I just thought, “Typical Saints BS.” And then Hakim dropped the ball! Great win for Saints fans.

I swear it felt like the terrace was literally bouncing. I forget who it was, maybe Willie Jackson, caught a TD that seemingly was going to seal it and the place went nuts. Then the comeback and we basically had that feeling that we were going to blow it. Then it happened!!

It’s fricking nuts how far we’ve come since then

We better do whatever it takes to hold onto Sean

Great memory. It went from 31-7, to 31-28 in an instant. God bless Milne.

Greatest TD celebration: Willie Jackson stopped at the 10 yard line and slowly walking in.

Man talk about some nostalgia. How the frick was that 20 years ago? I was riding in the car with my parents listening on the radio and remember it clearly. Can see the building we were passing in front of. One of those moments I’ll never forget.

I was working at the ATT store near lakeside and I walked over to bravo to pickup food.

The comeback was tense and as I left the restaurant with the food, while bar area erupted with cheers because “hakim dropped the ball.” Good times
