Hey will be Seaux, until he proves other wise.
Here is a breakdown.
2 years behind Herbert
2020 Covid
'21 hurt after 4 games
'22 went 5-0 then out for the season
'23 played four games then got hurt again
'24 Best tape in the nation
He ran a 4.6 But doesnt look fast.
Shough is arguably the worst of the top-6 QB prospects.
Dart: 69.3 Comp% 7.3 TD% 1.5 INT% 10.8 YPA 180.7 rating 3.07 TD/G
Howard: 73.0 Comp% 8.3 TD% 2.4 INT% 9.5 YPA 175.3 rating 2.67 TD/G
Ward: 67.2 Comp% 8.6 TD% 1.5 INT% 9.5 YPA 172.2 rating 3.04 TD/G
Milroe: 65.8 Comp% 8.1 TD% 2.1 INT% 10.0 YPA 172.2 rating 2.73 TD/G
Sanders: 74.0 Comp% 7.8 TD% 2.1 INT% 8.7 YPA 168.2 rating 3.00 TD/G
Shough: 62.7 Comp% 5.9 TD% 1.5 INT% 8.2 YPA 148.1 rating 2.11 TD/G
Last in completion percentage. Last in TD percentage. Last in yards per attempt. Last in QB rating. Last in TDs per game. And he'll be 26. And injury prone.
Never had a supporting cast either.

Several draft guys have come out and said they had him top 3 sure. One “anonymous coach” had him #1.

Cosell doesn't get the credit he deserves. Good analysis

His career showed if he ran the ball with regularity he got hurt so he might as well just be a pocket guy.

Didn't something come out about the saints trying to trade up for cam ward?
Anything else about the saints trying to move up or down?

He looks like a statue in the Pocket.
Hes gunna have less time in the pocket in the NFL. than he had in college

Drafting a competent guard would help.

So pass on a "pocket guy" because he is a pocket guy only to select a pocket guy?

You’re trolling at this point.
There are many criticisms of this guy but this is not one at all.

I think two things that I am a fan of when it comes to Shough is his height and arm strength.
I don't believe we've ever had a QB this tall (Winston 6'4") is the closest I believe. I think Moore saw something he liked in the kid and feels like his development has potential. Only thing I can't agree on is that who will he learn from, or sit behind? If Carr is on the way out, Rattler and Haener have nothing to teach him.
Maybe that's why we went O-line in the first round? Beef up the line and keep the kid from getting happy-feet and doing stupid things from the pocket? Who knows?
Picked up Olave's 5th year.........signed Cooks.........still have Shaheed. Who knows what will happen? I personally would throw Shough into the fire and see what he can do. Let him, Rattler and Haener battle it out in camp, but you have to take in the age of the kid too.

he had his leg rolled up on and broke his collar bone on a direct fricking hit to it.
hes not pulling up with soft tissue injuries.
Injury prone is one of the most misused terms by emotional fans.

The Shough pick is frustrating because it not only was an unnecessary overreach but it likely going to prevent the Saints from picking a possible better quality pick in the near future drafts.
1. The Saints panicked a bid against themselves to use the 40th pick. There were so many other much better players available with immediate day 1 impact that were passed over.
2. Cle played the saints like a banjo. Obviously the saints were worried about Cleveland picks but Cle played this draft like the saints should have.
3. The saints could have traded down to pick up Shough later and add a high pick next year. So in essence they wasted a 2 pick opportunity for Shough.
4. What happens next year if the saints have another top 10 pick and a better QB option is on the board. Will they pass or will they admit they panicked in this draft and take another QB with a 1st rd pick next year?
5. I hate that they let fear drive their pick in a weak QB draft. No way Shough graded out as a franchise QB weighed against all other franchise QB metrics.
6. They could have taken 2 QB picks in later rounds to get the same quality, and have 3 young QBs battles and push each other to win the top spot. Option, options, options. ... and still have the ability to take another franchise quality QB in future drafts if none worked out.
7. The saints could have picked up a young QB with NFL starts that are equal or better than Shough at 2.

Agreed they've done better than us but they passed on him twice in the previous 7 picks. Should've been obvious they weren't an immediate threat to take him.

People have been pumping up Cleveland’s drafts for 10 years now.
