I still hate the motherfricker with a deep passion and it was probably done to try to buy some good will with Saints fans, but this is cool.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just made the right call. He recently announced that he too will contribute to the medical expenses of Saints super fan, Jarrius “JJ” Robertson. Prior to the ESPYS Wednesday night, Jarrius and and his family were informed that Saints owner Tom Benson will contribute $25,000 towards his medical bills. When Goodell heard of Benson’s contribution, he decided to match it, bringing the total contribution towards Robertson’s medical bills to $50,000!!! i'd appreciate it more if he gave us a 2nd round pick back.

dumbest part of all of this, "good behavior gets you the 2nd 2nd rounder back"

Wow, $25k a piece. That's like a normal person throwing a dollar in a hat.

I feel kind of skeezy being that cynical guy, but that's like 0.071% of Goodell's annual salary. That's like you or me buying cheeseburger to him. It's well worth its cost in PR. I usually don't take this kind of stance because a good deed is a good deed, and I'm sure it's making a big difference in that guy's life. But frick Goodell.

Kudos to Goodell for his contribution . I can't point a finger because I haven't contributed anything however , that doesn't stop me from hoping that Santa brings him a boil on his arse this Christmas that never goes away.

I'll remember to say god job when I'm shoving a pineapple up his arse.

I hate that man. I hope he gets an elephant dick lodged in his colon.

Goodell is probably giving hundreds of these $25,000 gifts out a year. So don't knock it and say it's chump change and that he could be doing more. I'm sure he is.

Very unlikely. 100 $25,000 donations is already $2.5m. Assuming by hundreds you mean at least 200 (the very minimum to qualify as "hundreds") then that is at least $5m annually in cash donations. That means that you are claiming something like 25%+ of his after tax salary goes to cash donations. It's possible, but it doesn't seem likely to me. But yeah, he's probably doing more than this. At the very least as business promotion. And he's still an a-hole.

With bonuses and salary, he's making between $25M-$40M a year. I'm sure he's donating a few million a year. Simply from the tax write off angle alone, it's a smart thing to do. Listen- the point is, don't minimize his donation. Sometimes I'll see a random worthy cause online or out in my community and I throw in a $20 bill. I'm sure the person receiving isn't thinking, "That cocksucker. He could've given $500."

ETA: at least I hope.

How big does this guy's yacht have to be?

I'd like to think if I had Goodell money I would have donated more than what he gave to JJ!!

Can we move onto another deserving family now?

And maybe a family that doesn't sell pictures with their kid?

K thanks.
