We currently have 18m Cap space left. Im sure we can work a deal to make it fit.

We don't run a 3-4 defense anymore.

He's a 3-4 DE

Then he should be able to adapt to a 4i-5 tech.

I'd actually love to try Hicks out as a pass rushing DT.

Not sure if he can stop the run as a DT, but I know he can as a DE.

I'd take him, but we might have to move him back & forth between DT & DE

The reason Hicks had a falling out with the Saints was because they asked him to convert to DE and he felt that he was a better fit at DT (he was correct). Bring him back where it all started!!!!

The trade we did involving Hicks and that TE from the Patriots, still one of the worst of all time even if it was his last season with the saints.

He's an IDL which can be 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT. He's not an edge, even if he had the theoretical ability at one point.

Yes, do it so we can also claim him as a hypothetical LSU player that never made it to campus!

Hicks is a pure 3-tech. Onyemata is the starting 3-tech on the roster. Can Hicks play off center? Maybe. I think his salary demands would rival that of a starting 3-tech and the Saints need rotational guys there. I'm not sure they spend that money.

He can actually play a 4-3 one tech pretty well. I worry about his locker room presence more than anything.

We lost some leaders: Kwon, Jenkins and Armstead. I know we gained one with TM7 but I’d rather keep the good group we have now

If true, he would supplant Shy Tuttle. This would be a positive thing...nothing against Shy, of course.

Oh he made it to campus. That was the issue, because one of the coaches paid his lease. He didn’t play any games, but he was definitely on campus.

His issues would have been with the coaches that were here when he was here: Payton, Rob Ryan, and Bill Johnson

If the money is right, I think he'd be a great fit. Saints like to run a rotational D-line to keep bodies fresh, and he may like that as it could help extend his career. The money obviously needs to be a good fit.

For the post about his characters, it had been mentioned that those issues were "fixed" when he went to NE and Chi. It was also believed his issues were directly as a result of him believing the team wasn't using him the right way. Which his post-Saints career show was true

Hicks isn’t coming back to New Orleans. He felt like he was done wrong by the team.
