Its why Payton trying to weasel his way to another team, for years, is so baffling. He was in that inner circle, with a HC job and essentially co-ownership power, for life.
He might get GM duties wherever he coaches next. But he'll never have the control he had here. We were literally wearing the helmets he designed last night.

Loomis along with Payton destroyed our salary cap situation chasing another SB in which they never went too. You think Sean left bc he needed a break? No, he left because he knew there was no way to stay competitive with all the damage he and his buddy Loomis did. He gets to go to a different team and start over.

Guys, the saints and the state agreed to a deal to stay here until 2035. And then there are additional extensions until 2055 that can be tacked on.

Loomis and Payton were essentially owners without having any repercussions for their terrible decisions and spending. None can see the forest through the trees because they’re not pissing away their own money. Gayle is just the executor of a future endowment to Ochsner and the archdiocese.
