Both, as it always should be.

if we were building for the future, we'd probably trade Brees and that enormous contract.

When should the patriots trade Tom Brady?

Both. Ready now while acquiring defense post Brees. Kinda like 49ers did before everyone retired all at once.

In the NFL the future is 6-24 months.

We've been building for the future. Drafting offensive lineman and defensive players. Similar to Denver at the end of Elway's career. We've got a two or three year window here.

With a QB like Brees you go all in for now.

There are many dark seasons ahead for this franchise once Brees is gone.

I wonder how the Patriots do it with Brady's huge contract?

It's been said 10,000 times on here. His contract has a no trade clause.

Anytime someone brings up Drew's contract in a negative way their future opinions automatically become worthless.

If by winning now you mean staying healthy through training camp and future you mean the upcoming season it will be tough but I am fully onboard.

If you are talking about future offseasons in the middle of an offseason go frick yourself.

Brees is in the final year of his contract as a Saint while still playing at a HOF/MVP level...enjoy the now.

An organization should put the best possible product on the field, and always have one eye on the future.

Either one is fine. Latch onto what makes you happy. You can have both with proper timing.

the way i see it, they are making one big time run at it this year, but do have their eyes on the future if we don't succeed this year...

We're basically trying to win now & also planning for life after Brees at the same time. Building up our O-Line & defense accomplishes both. Look at what we did in the draft...

Lattimore, Ramczyk, Marcus Williams, Anzalone, Hendrickson, & Muhammad are all picks that suggest we're building for both now & the future.

Kamara is the only pick that is strictly a win now pick. We were even prepared to take Mahomes at 11...that tells you we're planning for life after Brees.

Kamara isn't a win now pick either. Both Peterson and Ingram have 2 years left. Even if we resign Ingram again we still need another back.
