am I the only person who thinks Shanle, while not dynamic, is not as bad as everyone thinks?

neither of the white LB's are flashy, but both got the job done.

With that being said, upgrading may not be that hard.

No you are not the only one. Hell, stats like average yardage per tackle and other efficiency metrics bear that out.

Re: Shanle, he did have a nice year. Both Shanle and Fujita are solid in their fundamentals. That's not as easy to replace as some people think. There's a reason those guys kept their starting jobs. I think OLB was already on the list as far as overall positional upgrades, but Fujita's absence puts it at the top of the list now IMO. We need to hang on to Sharper and address the DE/OLB spots in the draft/free agency.

Scott was also the first person that Payton signed as our head coach.

Sad to see you go Scott.

It doesn't seem to be as bad here, but over at SR the Super Bowl and FA rules have turned some peoples brains to mush.

And I agree Shanle is pretty solid.

Apparently he signed a 3 year deal worth 14 million dollars. Thats over 4 million a year.

I loved Scott as a Saint, and am happy he got such a good deal. I will root for him as a Brown and wish him the best. Glad he got a ring!

Holmgren said he could play ILB or OLB there. I can't imagine him put in a role that puts so much emphasis on rushing the QB, because he was terrible at getting pressure here.
