Does that mean were almost definitely going OLB in round 1?
DE is still a position of much more need, and is a relatively easy transition from college to pros.
Very curious to see what he's making in his first year.

I can't go looking all over right now, sorry

This is the biggest flaw in the final 8, "lose a free agaent to sign a free agent" system.
We have to wait to lose a guy to sign one and by that time most of the legit players are long gone. Could be the same situation, but even worse, with Sharper

I know he is still young but I think Casillas has a really good shot at being the starter. He impressed me when he played, he is sometimes too aggressive but has the skills to be special.

we have the kid from Wake Forest too.
LB in the 1st makes the most sense though.

Good luck to him. It's not like the Saints are in position to break the bank with all the young RFAs they have.

Ask LeCharles Bentley how the Browns treated him.
I don't want to get off topic here, but I had to reply. The Browns went above and beyond the call of duty with Bentley. The team basically paid him his entire contract even though he was hurt. Bentley shouldn't have any complaints.

Mike Holmgren. should have a new attitude around there

The Saints could have thought this out as well.
Figured they wanted to sign someone, and saw Fujita as expendable. Maybe low-balled him or something on purpose. Who knows

I don't agree as it applies to the Saints. We weren't going to be a player for the guys that have moved on the last 2 days anyways.

Oh well, we need to upgrade at OLB anyway, but i would have rather kept fujita and let shanle go
I agree with this! Who knows what these other LB's we have can do. They could not beat out Fujita or Shanle so that speaks volumes about upgrading unless they improve REAL FAST or we draft one or two that can come in and start, or if we get a FA from somewhere now.

I'm sure they overpaid but that's what a team like the Browns has to do if they want anyone to sign there.

Which "legit" guys are you referring to? Last year, we were able to get Sharper AND Greer well into the free agency period. Our initial targets at both positions signed elsewhere. We sure as hell wouldn't have been in the market for Dansby at that price. IF the RFA's that normally would have been eligible for UFA were on the market, then I'd agree. But the fact remains that the majority of free agents that are worth a damn are of the restricted variety this year and the final 8 rule doesn't impact that.

am I the only person who thinks Shanle, while not dynamic, is not as bad as everyone thinks?

+1, had a pretty solid yr IMO, a under-rated season
