Eli Apple isn't saving the Saints defense. In fact, FPI thinks the Saints have the worst defense in the NFL going forward. It's been overlooked given the success the offense is having, but one of these days it will come back to haunt New Orleans. -- Seth Walder

Really? I have been hearing this all preseason and it still hasn't died.

Any team that can stop the run is not the worst defense moving forward.

Any team we play better bring it defensively themselves or they will get shell shocked.

They don't "stop" the run. The offense scores so many points so quickly that opposing offenses are forced to pass in order to play catch up.

You should back it up with proof. We’ve only blown out two teams. The rest have been nail biters. Not enough to debunk the rush defense. Do I believe they are #1, no. However, I do think they have a top 10 rush defense.

Chiefs and Patriots score a million points and it’s game of the year.

Saints-Falcons score a ton, “Holy shite these defenses are awful. What happened to football?”

They are #1 anyway you look at it. Lead in yard per carry by a good amount. And teams have tried to run on us.

This is almost as dumb as that ESPN dude. We have been in tight games all year with exception of the redskins.

uh...

Halftime points margins

Vs Tampa - Down 6
Vs Cleveland - Down 3
Vs Atlanta - Up 2
Vs. NYG - Up 5
Vs. Skins - Up 13
Vs. Baltimore - Down 3

Take out the Skins game and we're basically averaging a tie at halftime. How many teams abandon the run in the second half of games that are tied?

We're 17th in total defense, 1st in rush defense and 28th in pass defense.

I'd say that's a far cry from worst in the league.

We could go 18-1, win the super bowl, and critics would say, “how does this team lose to Tampa Bay to open the season. Sean Payton should be ashamed of himself”

And I would give 0 fricks. Let them say whatever they want and let’s win a SB.

You may want to do some research. Saints are first in YPC and yards allowed per game. We are in first by a good margin.
