What happened before 1:38 sec to go isn't important. We were winning by 3 and only needed to prevent a TD so that we would not lose against an AVERAGE offense. The defense failed mainly due to scheme. You pay coaches to make the best gametime decisions possible in that particular situation. Our defensive coordinator failed in that situation. PERIOD!

Fukn small minded ppl. We overcame them?? When? When we lost?

If turnovers are even do we win or not?
Turnovers is the number one stat that leads to a win or loss in a football game.
If you DON'T think turnovers was the number one problem you are a RETARD.

You're a fricking idiot if you believe that. Without the turnovers the go ahead points are extend the lead points and the game is OVER with 1:38 to go.

Can't say. It doesn't help, but NO TEAM IS GUARANTEED POINTS!

ARE YOU frickING STUPID??? The SCORE is the number 1 stat that leads to a win or loss.
Had we stopped them on the last possession, WE frickING WIN!
nothing else matters that lead up to that point... We HAD THE LEAD! Shitty Defensive schemes were called. We let the TWO players who were burning us all game win the game against us.

Turnovers happen, they are mistakes by players. Playing a stupid scheme with a minute left to go is incopentence. We lost this game because of poor defensive scheme at the end of the game. Turnovers put us in that situation but Gregg's scheme is what why the 49ers could take advantage of us in that situation.

they started a drive at the saints 3, and inside the 30 twice. that's pretty much guaranteed points. somehow they only got 13

Who gives a frick about that... WE HAD THE LEAD! How hard is this for you to fathom? WE WERE WINNING and the defense allowed them to score. That's all that matters.

We overcame those.
Blitzing, and not putting to defenders on Davis on those last 2 plays is what lost us this game.
So, in your world there can only be one reason a team can lose?
I have news for you...if we don't turn it over 5 times, those last two plays don't beat us.
You seem like a simple thinker.

no one, no one ever gives a frick about turnovers, that why teams -4 in turnover ratio are 1-72 in the playoffs, because it doesnt matter

stick to being a creep. youre better at that

So your argument is now that we lost because we scored fewer points? That's incisive stuff there.

So basically what you're saying is the first three quarters had no baring on the last. Turnovers put us in the position we were in. No turnovers and more than likely we don't have to worry about a last second drive

settle down, i know it sucks...
but the turnovers did lose us this game.
mistakes are always magnified during the last plays of a close game. But don't treat the earlier mistakes with any less importance

Nothing that happens prior to the game winning score matters apparently. If the starters are killed by a falling comet in the 1st quarter but the 2nd teamers takes the lead in the 4th only to lose the game, that game is all about those disappointing 2nd teamers.

I can't figure out how no one understand that Points are never guaranteed.
We fumble on the 2 yard line when our player gets knocked out. IF he holds the ball, we will attempt a field goal but there is no guarantee we make that field goal.
We give up 4 more balls. Does not mean we score on those drives. For all we know we go 3 and out the rest of those drives and then San Fran goes to Vernon Davis and they score anyway.
Turnovers put us in a bind, but since we had the lead with a minute left THE ONLY THING THAT WE CAN SAY FOR CERTAIN is that if we stop them, we win.

Exactly. This is just a ridiculous thread to think that had the turnovers didn't put us in the position we were in
