I haven't looked at the list but there were 0 reasons for him to keep his job in the first place in order to be a candidate on this list

Dude inherited a SS Camaro and switched the engine to a V4, put caps on the mufflers, and replaced all 4 tires with spares

Even worse him and his butt buddy took out a future years salary cap to build this atrocity

To be doomed to a 4 year rebuild is fricking insane.

To not be drafting QBs even in 2024 with 5 years of cost controlled protection is insane

To be married to Carr a middle of the pack at best QB is insane

To be guaranteeing contracts on 30+ year old players or players on downward spirals is also insane

No seriously Gale...WTF are you doing

But Loomis says Tom Landry and Bill Walsh were probably not respected be their peers at one time too.

He has my vote.

The best thing for the Saints is to win 0 games this year and get the number 1 pick and Allen fired.

Trade any players with value for picks.

Start next year with Vrabel and multiple first round picks.

Read the article...its right garbage.

I'm not trying to defend DA here, but the article makes 2 basic points about DA as to why he sucks:

1. He didn't fire Pete Carmichael after the 2022 season.
2. He fired Pete Carmichael after the 2023 season.

It basically says the very act of hiring a new offensive coordinator shows he is a bad coach.

Now, should he have fired PC after 2022? probably, but I can understand him not wanting to fully overhaul both the offensive and defensive staffs in the same offseason. He probably should have cleaned house when he first took the job, but he got it late because SP took a while to retire. it is what it is.

Then, it draws comparisons between Derek Carr and Klint Kubiak. Since DA threw all his eggs in a basket thinking that Carr could overcome Carmichael's shortcomings, now he is doing the same with Kubiak, thinking he will do the same with Carr. The only solution to that argument is to not have an OC at all. It's an illogical comparison.

It comes across as circular reasoning. DA's decisions are bad because he is a bad coach, and he is a bad coach because his decisions are bad. The argument covers the writer in case the Kubiak hiring works; he can argue that he never actually said that Kubiak was a bad hire even though he really did.

Plus, the actual survey gives using Taysom Hill on third down as a reason that DA is bad.

These are the same kind of people who are now claiming that Bill Bellicek was a bad coach.

Is DA one of the worst coaches in the NFL? His record says he is. This article is not a good support for that position.

The article does bring up the point that Kubiak is no Shanahan disciple, he was merely there for a season after being a part of the pathetic Broncos offense of 2022, a year after being dropped by the Vikings. He is a young offensive prodigy, just minus the prodigy component. DA hired the kid because he's Gary's son and he's known the family a long time.

I still remember you defending Allen in his hire thread when I said he was a bad pick and it should have been Harbaugh or at worse Peterson. Two years later, look how it’s turned out and I’m the idiot lol?

And it doesn’t matter who does the poll, he is the worse returning coach in the league. That’s not a debate.

No, the best thing for the Saints is to win the SB. That won’t happen, but neither will your scenario.

What the frick are you talking about I said I would take Pederson over anyone but he wasn’t coming here because Florida and a young QB.

Harbaugh was at Michigan and definitely not coming here. Allen staying on was the best option

Now, let’s talk about you being a complete moron and alleging there was a vote amongst coaches and they ranked Allen last. It’s a complete lie you imbecile

As already pointed out, this is a ranking AMONG his peers done by one guy I've never heard of. He may be right, but the OP is misleading. Can't take someone seriously when they lie from the start.

I agree he's the worst, but there is a debate for Saleeh & Eberflus.

They have Gannon right above DA at 23, but I think he deserves at least 1 more year before saying he's worse than DA and the 2 I listed above.

Wrong. I said it two years ago. Only Minny was interested in hiring him. They were the only team to interview him and were set to hire him but changed their minds at the last minute. He wanted back in the NFL years ago. Loomis didn’t bother with an interview b/c he already wanted Allen.

And don’t act like yiu weren’t defending Allen. I’ll go bump threads and embarrass you…

They are both bad, but Saleeh wouldn’t be mentioned if Rodgers doesn’t get hurt. And we saw what Fields was worth on the open market. Allen had Carr most of the year.

Too many fans (including a lot on this board) were defending him.

There's still enough fan support in both opinion and money for them to be able to claim ignorance when it comes to keeping DA around.

The fans who support DA and support ownership decisions as of late, deserve every bit of mediocrity that we have been and will be seeing.

V4 huh? Gayle may no more about engines than you, but I’d prolly take your football ownership skills.

That fricking guy will defend Allen to the death. There is no ray of sunshine too thin to be pumped. With that said there is no shot Pederson would take the saints over the Jags with Lawrence.
