The Failcons still have $40M in dead money to Ryan only. That’s the largest amount of dead cap space to a single player ever

Mario ya is not very good going to a depleted offensive roster. So yeah, they will be a bottom 10 team next year for sure.

I really do not understand this move. For a third round, I would love to see him in black & gold, but no way the Falcons were trading him to the saints. Copy’s get a steal.

I really don’t think I am. In a league that has starters like Zach Wilson, Sam Darnold, Davis Mills, Daniel Jones, and so on Mariota won’t be bad enough for them to bottom out. That’s not even counting the god awful rookie QB(s) that you know some poor team will convince themselves to start this year.
I’m not saying they won’t be bad, but when you tank, you usually do so in order to get a top 2-3 pick, and I don’t think they’ll be THAT bad.
I guess the easiest way of saying it is they won’t be bad enough to draft Stroud or Young.

The bottom been fell out.
Ryan was not the problem. Lack of Oline for YEARS now, lack of receivers last year, lack of defensive accountability under Quinn, no real running back for a few years, drafting poorly, doing bad contracts, etc. are all things that have been bigger issues.

Honestly the way it sounds I think Ryan was done with them.
If they really wanted to tank they wouldn't have signed anyone at QB. Mariotta is capable of winning the odd game, which hurts their tank chances.
