Per Schefter on Twitter

The Falcons have emerged as a sleeper team to acquire Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, league sources tell

and me. The Falcons join the Panthers, Saints and Browns as teams that have met with, or are interested in, trading for Watson. More to come on ESPN.
quote:
Falcons owner Arthur Blank is fond of Deshaun Watson from the days when the former Gainesville (Ga) High quarterback worked multiple years as a Falcons’ ball boy and developed a relationship with Blank's family.

Yep. We’re out of this race.

Didn't expect that at all.
Out of all of those teams, we are the best situation.

I think Matt Ryan could help us. Not sure they'd trade him to us though

I'll take MAtt Ryan for a few years.

Our history of never winning a recruiting battle

Atlanta and Carolina have both previously been his home. Odds aren’t in our favor.

Saints
Panthers
Browns
Falcons
The only other thing I'll say is...grown men should only purchase a players jersey for their children to wear.

This is a very very overrated factor. Most players don't care that much about this.
They want the most money, and the best situation to win. Everything else is distant factors for most players.

I don't like that if we miss out, it's a 67% chance at this point that we have to face him 2 times a year

Depends on if he values proximity to home over winning. We'll see, but I'm not counting us out yet.

Call me a homer but I just don’t see how we aren’t the best situation. We literally JUST missed the playoffs after major injuries, COVID bs and 4 different starters at QB. And we get our All-Pro WR back. With a top 10 defense.

and his 58 million dollar dead cap after the recent restructure.
dead cat bounce. Saints about to have their qb gents.

The drama is starting to be a bit much. It may be likely that atlanta is trying to drive the price up. Which is what the Texans want. If Watson were smart, he’d limit the teams because it doesn’t help him to have his future team have to give up a bunch of assets in a bidding war.

The longer this draws out the worse the situation gets. The saints should have pulled all the stops out yesterday. The owner of the team didnt even show face. I really dont like our odds anymore.
