How can Peat be overrated when most people think he sucks?
Posted on 5/11/20 at 7:42 am to GMoney2600
What he said.
Also Davis is far from most underrated. Most people know he's really good. It would have to be someone like Murray or Tuttle or someone like that.
Also what does could surprise you mean? Like bad or good surprise. I don't think anyone would be surprised if Lattimore balled out. But if he has a terrible year yeah that would surprise me.

Saints Talk is so down on Peat that I think he might actually be underrated on this board.

Most Overrated: yeah I don’t really see anyone that’s “overrated”. Although people on this board might say Marcus Williams or Peat.
Most Underrated: I’m gonna go Lutz here. He’s been rock solid his whole career and he’s nailed some game winners. I’d also mention Josh Hill. Guy gets a ton of snaps and is important to what they do.
Best Player: Drew
Key New Addition: Malcolm Jenkins. Saints are facing some tough offenses this year. I’m hoping that having him in the secondary helps them be a little more consistent.
Could Surprise: Cesar Ruiz. I guess it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was good, but I’ll make a bold prediction and say he steps in and is instantly elite. Similar to Ram.
Takes a Leap: Gardner-Johnson / Harris / Davenport
Prove it year: Jameis. He either proves himself to Payton and co or he doesn’t.

Most Overrated: I guess maybe Taysom if you're looking at it from the perspective of people think he's a starting QB? I just don't see it. But I don't really think anybody is super overrated.
Most Underrated: Lutz. I think we all appreciate him, but maybe not as much as we should. He's been pretty automatic and clutch since arriving.
Best Player: Michael Thomas
Key New Addition: Emmanuel Sanders
Could Surprise: PJ Williams. He was okay inside and did okay playing safety all things considered. Don't think he's amazing, but I could see him having a very solid year and us being more thankful for him.
Takes a Leap: Jared Cook. Started to look solid before an injury. Think he becomes even more valuable this year.
Prove it year: Jameis. He might not get to play, but he has the most to prove of anyone.

It is wrong to be constantly thinking about Brees replacement, while knowing he is still the best player on this team?
Im going Drew as best player.

Most Overrated: David Onyemata (was almost invisible last season; hopefully he'll go back to his 2018 form)
Most Underrated: Ryan Ramczyk (top 5 OT in the league)
Best Player: Michael Thomas (goes without saying)
Key New Addition: Emmanuel Sanders (finally a legit #2 WR)
Could Surprise: Trey Hendrickson (came on towards the end of last year; very good back-up pass rusher)
Takes a Leap: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson (he'll get more time with Bell gone and should shine)
Prove it year: Terron Armstead (health-wise; if he goes down mid-season again, we'll need to start thinking about a replacement)

Most Overrated: Sheldon Rankins (good, not great oft injured player). Lattimore is good but not great like he was his rookie year.
Most Underrated: Marcus Williams (one of the better FS in the NFL). Josh Hill honorable mention.
Best Player: Michael Thomas, Cam Jordan, Armstead, Ram (all are top 5 at their positions)
Key New Addition: Emmanuel Sanders
Could Surprise: Trequan Smith
Takes a Leap: Taysom Hill, Gardner-Johnson
Prove it year: Anzalone

40 year old Brees isn't better than Mike Thomas in his prime. Hell, MT might not even be in his prime yet.
MT is going to get smarter as he ages. He's only in his mid 20's.

Kamara ready to get paid he already proved it

Saints should boast the best o-line in football. 9/10
Brees is a first ballot Hall of Fame QB, but he has shown signs of diminishing the past two seasons. Even so, he’s a better than average starting qb, and his backups are more than solid if Brees has trouble with injuries again this year. 8/10
Michael Thomas is one of the league’s best possession recievers and Kamara is one of the league’s premier pass-catching halfbacks, but the Saints often struggled last year to find a reliable third option. Cook at TE showed flashes and seemed to improve over the course of the season and Emanuel Sanders or TreQuan Smith could develop into a solid WR2. The 3rd rounder TE looks interesting as well. If one of these players can develop into a solid red zone target to take the pressure off of Michael Thomas, we could be in for another record setting offense. 7/10
D-line looks solid and deep, but I’m not sold on them being elite. Cam Jorden is clearly a star and Rankins and Onyamata have shown flashes of brilliance between long stretches of solid, but not elite, play. Davenport has a big opportunity to silence critics this year if he can stay healthy. 8/10
Linebacker depth looks like it could be an issue again, but the starting lineup is more than serviceable. Davis, Analzone, Kiko, and Jenkins seem like a solid 3/4 lineup. Robertson has proven himself as a reliable backup or rotational player, and Hendrickson has produced when not hobbled by injuries. I do worry about this unit’s history with injuries and depth. 7/10
Starting CBs are great with Lattimore bordering on elite territory, but depth could be a problem. We seem deep at safety, but I wouldn’t call them elite. 6/10
Special teams look excellent and should be a top 5 unit in the league in punting, kicking, and return game. 10/10
Overall, the Saints look to have one of, if not, the most complete team in the NFL entering next season.

Michael Thomas bro. Mike Thomas plays for another team.
And arguable, but I think Brees is still the best player on team.
That being said, I dont have a problem with any of Brees/MT13/Cam Jordan being listed as best player on the team.
