Dude certainly owns double teams.

And doesn't give up on plays.
Faster than you'd expect him to be.

I hear ya! Seems like one of those Saints picks that could turn into a winner like they've been known to do. Kid is an elite athlete for that size like Armstead is. Hopefully he can turn into an Armstead on defense.

Good thing we have a fine developer of talent like Bill Johnson to get the most out of this raw prospect

Most of y'all keep talkin about Akiem Hicks as though football was new to him like this guy. Akiem was once recruited by LSU and had been playin for awhile. He was not totally raw like this k

David Onyemata is coming off a 2015 Canadian university football season in which he recorded 50 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss and five sacks

Re: hicks

This past season he started all eight games, finishing with a team-best 42 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, three pass break-ups and two forced fumbles, earning first team All-Conference honors. He led the team in sacks as a senior.

So this raw sumbitch has better numbers in Canada than Hicks? Thoughts

Highlight video is impressive but yea he needs a lot of work. He tackles everyone standing straight up and all arms. No way he can do that in the NFL.

But he is really quick, looks like he has great closing speed. Beat a bunch of double teams in that video.

Manitoba is in a weaker than conference than Regina.

I'm loving this pipeline to Canada, though. Such an untapped resource.

Just coming to say this. He stays up high way to much not just on tackling but off the snap. That should be an easy fix though. His footwork will take a bit longer

In Akiem's defense, he probably quit trying 5 games into the season.

Well he's certainly athletic, couple of those highlights he chases down receivers and makes open field tackles.

LOL at people ripping the pick of a player they've never seen or heard about.

How many people are ripping the pick and how many are wondering if he's worth starting to give up next year's draft to get a guy was projected to go here by maybe one source?

Next year's 5th. It isn't like we gave up a king's ransom.

It was actually great value. The "chart" says we should have had to give up next year's 4th with this year's 5th.

Dettilier says seeing him at the Shrine practices you would have thought he was from USC not Manitoba. He dominated practices.

I don't get the love for Billings. Why would anyone want a player from that atrocious Baylor defense? It's like people were rooting for a name without any consideration of the impact he had on the overall unit.

Noticed the same.
He slips off easily for the back cuts.

His story.
