Brees is going to mind frick them all when the Saints go to Green Bay in single digit temperatures to end the Packers season.

It’s really too bad, because Simmons is a pretty sharp guy otherwise.

Montana played 9 games a year in Cali (La Rams). One game in Atlanta. One game in the Superdome. 5 elsewhere. OMG asterisk!!!!!!

Bill Simmons is a basketball guy so I do not understand why his football opinion really matters to anyone. Listen to cousin sal for football stuff.

Well, Manning played about half of his games in a dome, too.

Well then, hopefully he adds Peyton Manning in there as a one who doesn't deserve any records while playing in Lucas oil all his career but 2 seasons...Drew played 5 in San Diego which was outdoors.

people seem to always want to explain away brees greatness. It’s pretty pathetic tbh.

They're doing the same thing to Mike Thomas too.

He plays with Brees. He doest stretch the field. He only catches balls 10 yards from the LoS. He gets a million targets.

Hes going to end the season with 150+ catches at an 83% rate, more than 1,700 yards, and probably 10 TDs. By any metric, this will be one of the most dominant seasons a WR has ever had, period. But there are still people who claim he isn't even the best WR in the NFC South, and barely breaks the top 5 in the NFL.

That's dumb considering he had Teddy throwing to him for five games.

Exactly. And Tom Brady played for the greatest organization in the last 20 years with tons of line protection and great coaches

His rant about Brees last week on the pod with Mallory Rubin was bad too. He’s so insecure

I’ve followed this guy for most of his career. His podcasts are only interesting because he sometimes has really smart people on them.

The guy went from a good young writer who was different because he wrote from the POV of a fan, to now being someone who is a combination of a troll, and the old man who yells at cloud meme.

If Simmons is saying negative stuff about a person or team, there is a 100% chance it connects to Boston some kind of way. In this case he is trolling Brees, even though he is serious, because Brees has the records.

The guy also shite on Joe Burrow when Burrow was being compared to Brady. His reasoning was that Brady has 6 rings, so people should calm down. Like that has anything to do with comparing talents.

Did he find a way to squeeze a witty nba reference into this freezing cold take?

He did actually. He said it would be like comparing a shooter shooting indoors, to shooting outdoors. I mean forget the fact that all competitive basketball leagues are played indoors, while football is played inside and outside.

In the Burrow point I made earlier, he said comparing Burrow to Brady would be like comparing people to Michael Jordan. His point was that no one was compared to Jordan. You would think this “basketball expert” would be aware that every athletic, 6’6 sg, was compared to Jordan for years.

Does Brady get an Asterisk playing home games in the playoffs outside in December and January?

He actually did the opposite. He argued that Brady and Belichick should get credit for a playoff win when they get a bye week in the 1st round every year.
