Too bad, so sad, you don't get to tell people how and where they can exercise their First Amendment rights.

The NFL can certainly stop this. You don't disagree with that, do you?

Note to self: State all sources for any terminology, slangs or other when posting on Tigerdroppings. That's not your issue. The issue is you don't know a noun from an adjective.

Again, I was using the term "Snowflake" as it is defined in the OnlineSlangDictionary.com. I understand that my use is completely wrong in terms of the way it is correctly used in the commonly accepted English language. But in terms of the way I was using it, I was very much inline with the way it is used as a slang. So again if this offended you, I apologize.

You aren't "the NFL." What is "the NFL"? Is it the owners? Godell? The players? The players' union? Answer: all of the above. The owners, rightfully so, are taking into consideration the views of their employees (whom they rely upon for their livelihood, and of course, vice-versa.)

It's a football game. It's not church. It's not a religious experience. You don't like what they're doing, turn your head away or turn off the TV during the playing of the anthem. The exercise of free speech, protests, are precisely intended to make a point, and be uncomfortable, otherwise, they wouldn't be "protests."

I, for one, accept your apology.

I wish more posters could admit they were wrong instead of getting defensive.
Respect.

a desire to find a way to show unity while also displaying a protest in some form with regards to the racial inequality in the U.S.

So none of them have the spine to stand up to this falsehood? None of them recognize "inequality" as a euphemism to describe the results of chronically poor choices? None of them have seen enough wealthy and middle class black people to realize that opportunity is available to everyone?

Dumbasses, all of them.

Well if it's not that easy, then it just surfaces the folks that are still bitching and puts them as having a problem with freedom of speech, so bad on them...I personally don't give a frick what any American citizen has to say...it's their right to do so....just don't trample on the Flag or Anthem....Otherwise, have at it guys...Some people are just going to bitch no matter what. Our Saints fixed the heart of the issue, time to move on and live and let live

Use it in a sentence as an adjective. I don't think you know the difference between an adjective and a noun.

What a meaningless point that didn't address my statement at all.

Too bad, so sad, you don't get to tell people how and where they can exercise their First Amendment rights.

But, there is actually a difference. The fans are voicing their displeasure at the entity that they are unhappy with. The players (and owners) are taking a position many are unhappy with...and they've voiced their displeasure to the players and owners.

The players who protest chose to time their protest as a part of a football game (which had no relation to the issue of the protest) and against a sacred institution (which not only had no relation to the issue but actually represents the guarantees of the freedom and equality the protesters believe they don't have).

They've intentionally chosen to go piss off people who have nothing to do with the issue at hand. And, they are getting their asses handed to them on this issue as a result.

Black people been uncomfortable for a while so you got them there

Aww poor thing.... feel free to get yourself a one-way ticket out if if youre that 'uncomfortable' here....

Meanwhile...
quote:

In 2016, the police fatally shot 233 blacks, the vast majority armed and dangerous, according to the Washington Post. The paper categorized only 16 black male victims of police shootings as “unarmed.” That classification masks assaults against officers and violent resistance to arrest. Contrary to the Black Lives Matter narrative, the police have much more to fear from black males than black males have to fear from the police. In 2015, a police officer was 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male was to be killed by a police officer. Black males have made up 42 percent of all cop-killers over the last decade, though they are only 6 percent of the population. That 18.5 ratio undoubtedly worsened in 2016, in light of the 53 percent increase in gun murders of officers — committed vastly and disproportionately by black males. Among all homicide suspects whose race was known, white killers of blacks numbered only 243. Violent crime has now risen by a significant amount for two consecutive years. The total number of violent crimes rose 4.1 percent in 2016, and estimated homicides rose 8.6 percent. In 2015, violent crime rose by nearly 4 percent and estimated homicides by nearly 11 percent. The last time violence rose two years in a row was 2005-06. The reason for the current increase is what I have called the Ferguson Effect. Cops are backing off of proactive policing in high-crime minority neighborhoods, and criminals are becoming emboldened.

Keep blaming the whites and cops

Yeah that is the solution, leave. Let's not fix a problem that has been prevalent since Jim crow Lol. You guys are hilarious. You never will understand so don't try to. Just keep trying to police black athletes.

Employers kind of can tho....right...???
I mean if you walked into your workplace and started calling every female you saw a filthy word.... you wouldnt last long...but thats still freedom of speech, but they can certainly exercise their right to terminate you
