Drew Brees is a shell of his former self.

lol knew this wasn't gonna go well, Brees is still our best chance at winning, regardless, and I am a huge Saints fan so don't take this personal.

Who Dat! To a great year

I saw a QB just pressing to hard out there. Never really got anything going in the run game last year to compliment the passing game.

I mean I guess they did in the winning streak there in the middle of the season but for the most part... no... not even close.

Only 3 other teams attempted to run the ball less than the Saints did.

I can understand why you would say this, but remember these key things.

1. Drew Brees was throwing 40,50 times a week. Including the SF/ATL games just 4 days apart.

2. Our offensive tackles really had some pretty sloppy showings out there forcing Brees to get rid of it early or make throws he wasn't ready to.

Long story short, we need to get back to running the ball and getting some balance on the offensive side of the ball. Next, we need to find stability at T. Bushrod is gone and Strief was terrible last season. Armstead, Jones, Brown, Smith or someone really needs to step up and contribute because Grubbs and Evans can't do it all.

Ok great pass. Geeezum! I'm not saying he doesn't belong in the NFL. On a lot of throws he was late not because of decision but velocity is all I'm saying. He is a great qb and I'm a fan, but look at a lot of his INTs and its because the ball is late. That said I repeat he is still the man and I hope for a great finish to his great career.

I'm not saying the guy is done! His arm looked tired last year for whatever reason

he isn't above criticism... I mean he had a couple of bad games.

The second Falcons game and the 49ers game stand out.

the field opens up a lot more when you have a running game to compliment the pass. I've always seen Brees as more of an accuracy kind of guy as opposed to a QB with a rocket arm like Vick, Farve, Randall Cunningham, and others.

No run game. Worse defense in history. Playing from behind.

This is a fair observation. He had a rough year with the deep ball, short throwing quite a few. He'll have it together this year, though.

ETA I was saying all year long that it looked like Brees was showing some arm fatigue. Dude has been throwing it non-stop since he got here, and factor in a year without CSP's playcalling and playing from behind a lot, it's easy enough to see why this happened.

Eh, he only lost a couple of games for us last year, and those were against really good teams. I'd like to see some real WRs on our team for him to throw to. Imagine if we had the WR corps of Dallas or Atlanta?
