Wasn’t cooks a one year deal? We need actual bodies to get us through the rebuild. Drafting Shough can be very much a part of a rebuild. If they thought he was the most capable qb in the draft then drafting him to potentially be a sleeper franchise guy is very much a rebuilding move. There’s nothing really wrong with a scouting department thinking a certain rookie qb is going to have a better career than consensus.
Going out and trading for an aging vet qb to start would’ve been a more non rebuilding move. Not turning over the roster to a qb battle between Shough and rattler lol.
