I reserve the right to change my opinion once presented with evidence on the contrary, but I noticed slowness from both of them. I personally prefer Hawthorne to Lofton, and I like him as a player.

slowness, lack of instincts to be superb defensive playmakers. Lofton is solid but hawthorne would be a great #5 backup for the LB corps.

Again, reading King's statement made it seem as if Murray was great value at the end of the 2nd. I don't know shite about the players in the draft class this season, and I go based on what I read. This time of year is when I start researching the prospects and learning of their value. I stand by my belief that if a QB drops at that spot, then we need to take him

I hold myself accountable for believing King knows what he is talking about though, because he's usually an idiot that talks about coffee, his daughter's fingerbang team, how guns are making people mass murder maternity wards and how the Redskins are indian rapists. I will be more careful with future readings

Mettenberger would be a much better pick in the 2nd. He was the best senior QB this year.

No I'm not an LSU fan, nor am I advocating the idea of picking a QB in the 2nd round.

I've quit trying to say what QB is going to be a stud in the NFL.
Hell, the guys who spend their life at it making 6 figures can't even get it right

we better be getting early round guys at other positions who are contributing .....not waiting their turn.

I agree with this.

Whoa Whoa Whoa. High pick maybe, but I don't think anyone thought that high. He was considered a "value pick" for sure. On the other hand...Mel Kiper thought Jimmy Clausen was a "value pick" too.

See, I disagree with this a little. Great QBs are all over the draft.

Vick was first overall and Brees was a round later. Who would you rather have?

Alex Smith was first overall and Rodgers was the 24th pick. Who would you rather have?

Manning and Luck were the 1st overall picks. But so was Carson Palmer and JaMarcus Russell.

Look at that class of Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Daunte Culpepper and Cade McNown. Aaron Brooks was taken in the 4th round of that year and did better than half those guys.

And a lot of starting QBs didn't start right away either. Tom Brady, Ben Rothlesburger, Chad Henne, Philip Rivers, Tony Romo, Carson Palmer, Colin Kaepernick and Drew Brees. (Drew was picked in the second round and didn't start a single game until his second year.) Eli has won two superbowls and shared time with Kurt Warner his first year. And look at what Kurt Warner had to go through to get a job.

Look at two years ago with Luck, RG III and Russell Wilson. In four years we could be saying how great Kirk Cousins is because he won a Super Bowl with the Cardinals or Rams.

Then you weren't paying attention. Rodgers vs smith for number one pick was the debate. SF had contract discussions with both. So I firmly suggest you think before you ever use multiple whoas with me ever again.

Of course. I'm talking about high round talents that are groomed for multiple years.

Snaps missed by Graham in the two playoff games: 46. I understand different players playing different packages, but when your best weapon is sitting 30 percent of the time, it’s a mistake.

is King not aware that Jimmy might not be 100% ?

he did get hurt against NE.

I'm sure Sean Payton wasn't just like... hey you know what? I think I'm going to hold my All-Pro TE out a little more for the fun it.

Saints also were looking to run the ball more on the road in the playoffs.

Oh, and do not think of moving on from David Hawthorne. One of the underrated inside ’backers in football.

I don't know about all that. I think he's looked good this year at times but he isn't a difference maker.

the biggest thing for me with the LB's, both inside and outside is simple.

there always seems to be a rash of injuries that hits this group every year.

draft one with the 1st or 2nd pick??? I don't know about that.

a free agent? maybe

an addition needs to be made whether it is in free agency or a mid to late round pick IMO.

as for Murray, I think a team could still get him in the 3rd round. He's coming off a late season knee injury... but there are a lot of QB's in this draft.

don't know if that is a good or bad thing for him.

Green Bay is thankful their GM didn't follow this line of thought back in '05.

Was a very different situation. Rodgers was being talked about like he was a possible 1st overall pick. Then he fell to the twenties. It was way too much value to pass up. A more comparable situation would be if Bridgewater fell to pick 27. Would it be too much value to pass up?

I think everybody agrees that Brees won't be here too much longer and that at some point the Saints are going to have to start looking for his successor. Obviously the GB/Ind route is prefereable, but really those were just a matter of fortunate circumstances: Rodgers was arguably the to QB going into the draft and he was just sitting there in the 20's for someone to take him. Credit GB with for taking a shot on a guy they didn't "need" for a while. Luck just fell into the Colts lap.

All that said, drafting Brees's successor doesn't mean you have to take the "guy most similar" to your current HOF QB even if there are other players who are better. I doubt if Brady were the Saints QB King would be advocating Murray. He'd probably be lobbying for the next unhearalded, lanky QB just like Brady.

Brees has 3 years left on his deal. He'll want monster money if he stays beyond that. Draft A QB if you can find a good one and tell him to get ready for the 2017 season
