Would have been a nice homecoming hire too, and he had a SB ring. Saints dropped the ball for sure but Payton also took about 3 weeks to resign after last season ended, the Jags hired Pederson like a week after Payton resigned and had probably been talking to him for a while since Meyer was fired midseason.

Umm, if this was the case, why did he come interview with us? Saints could have hired him but went with Allen. Don’t blame Payton.

Most of the credit for that went to the GM for putting together an insane roster, and Reich. Pederson was basically an afterthought no one respected.
