I see 3rd or 4th. I also think he will be a better player in the nfl than where he is drafted.

Landry does attack the ball like a grown arse man. You see all these highlights of wr's with all the athleticism in the world that wait for the ball; Landry goes after it. If he had size, he'd be a beast but that will drop him big time. I see him having a solid career despite his size and speed; lot more to football. He's going to be great value for someone if he starts sliding.

Dude is a great football player. He's got it. Some players just have it. See TM7.
Mid to late 2nd round. Some scouts even had higher times then the offical 5.58. Def helped his stock today.

We'll let Landry's lack of elite size and speed be someone else's gamble...

meetings set up with Marqise Lee and now Odell...
if either of them make it to 27, we'd pounce.

picking right in front of WR deprived Carolina... PLEASE!! bonus!

I think Landry can be a possession guy for just about any offense in the NFL. OBJ is flashier, and has more versatility and speed; but I think Landry is better at route running and fighting for the ball. Either one of those guys would be phenomenal, but you will get what you pay for between the two for sure. There's a case to be made for the Saints needing both roles; speedster and a possession receiver. We lost Moore and not having a "Henderson" as the burner was an obvious hole this year. And no I'm not saying we should have kept D. Henderson - just saying we have needs all-around at the receiver position.

I don't think there's a chance Landry gets out of the 2nd round. And he'd be well worth the pick imo

Colston's stock dropped a bunch when he had some bad showings at the combine or whatever it was. Some times you need to resort to tape to find the real player.

The positive is that we can get the burner wr in the first two rounds because I think Landry will fall to our 3rd. We need a hard arse physical receiver like Landry to counter physical db's like Seattle's

I predict he will be there at 58 and that the Saints will pass.

And they will be stupid. Bolden runs a sub 4.6, hes a wr, all he needs to do is catch it, and he does that better than most anyone ive seen in this draft. Landry may never wow people, but he will be a player for whoever gets him.

Agreed. Pure baller that plays harder than the more gifted athletes. Can be a Chris Carter type

Carter was blazing fast and was 6'3

Jarvis Landry is 5'11 and is less athletic than Drew Brees.

I like Landry for the Saints. Speed does not matter for Drew Brees. Have you paid any attention to Drew's deep passes the last two years? When is the last time he has hit a fast receiver running in stride? With Drew's arm, we need tall receivers with good hands.

He had the highest quarterback rating in the NFL for passes over 20 yards in the air last season throwing 15 touchdowns to 2 interceptions. 2nd most yards in that category too

In 2012, he was the 4th most accurate and led the NFL in yards.

All of that without a consistent deep threat.

Yet we've excelled when we had speed at receiver to keep safeties away from Graham and Colston. Speed is ALWAYS an asset.

And he hit receivers in stride all the time. His receivers had the most YAC on deep throws.

Tampa - last game of regular season

When did Landry become tall? Why can't Andy Tanner make the roster? Why couldn't Haas make the roster?

actually, we are missing our true deep threat right now. We already have 2 receivers that are great at the possession and height role.

If a scout drops JL bc of a few drops in a workout session then that scout should find a new line of work. JL's hands should be the least of anyone worries who watched his game film.

My comments about Landry are related to where he will be drafted...not a knock on how good he will be at the next level.

Having said that, your comparison to Boldin isn't a great one. Boldin is bigger and taller.

And, for being smaller, Landry ran slow. Also, he had a very low vertical at the combine (which is indicative of explosion). In fact, it was the 2nd lowest of all of the WRs.

Your comment that all a WR needs to do is catch it is extremely incorrect. In the NFL, a WR has to be able to get separation. If you want to make the case that Landry can do that, go for it. But, the thought that it doesn't matter is ridiculous.

Does anyone in here dislike Hines Ward or Anquan Bolden as a player?
