Does Drew Seek A Contender Next Season

In the last year of his contract, assuming he maintains play approximate to last year this season, do people feel like Drew makes a move after this year?

If a team that has the pieces for a run needed a QB, it's hard to imagine him not taking that into deep consideration IMO.

Denver comes to mind due to Elway.

I know this has been discussed before, but last night really made this chance a reality to me.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he's gonna walk. He's gonna ask for a big payday and the saints are gonna try to negotiate and he's gonna be like alright, cya.

We deserve it, anyway.

I love this team and I've loved this run but it's time to blow it up. Fire Loomis and Payton and let Drew walk.

If I'm him, I strongly consider it. The minute they kept Dennis Allen again, I'd be packing my bags.

Sean Payton's Saints have peaked. With just a few quality years left, why would Drew waste them picking his arse off the turf every other series?

I would like to watch him play on a team that can win before he is done. He is a Saint for life and nothing at this point can change that.

I would like to see him go to Arizona personally if he chooses to leave.

The Brees/Payton regime is over.

They won us a fricking Super Bowl for God's sakes, and I will forever be eternally grateful for that....but change is necessary at this point.

2009, 2010, and 2011 are loooong gone.

I'm a life-long Saints fan. Always will be. That said, I really like Drew. I've had the privilege to meet him a time or two and he's genuinely a great person.

There is no chance the Saints are a contender in the span of time he has left in his career.

For that reason, I hope in some ways he does go to a contender next year. My guess is Denver would be the frontrunner. If Big Ben retires, Pittsburg could be a destination as well.

If we are going to be this bad. I hope we are the worst ever and it will take the sting out of Drew leaving.

He deserves so much better.

He should. He has given the Saints all he can and they have shown that they are incapable of putting a championship-worthy team around him.

What would his options be: Denver, Houston, and Jacksonville?

Go to Denver and basically pull a Manning type season 2.0.

I think Arizona is his best fit. SF and LA are rent a wins for them if Drew is QB. Seattle will be a tough out but split with them and you can win division. Drew with David Johnson and Larry Fitz on O would be fun to watch as well as watching LSU West on Defense.

Denver is in a brutally tough division now that Oakland is up and running, KC is pretty solid, and even the Chargers are competitive and can hang with anyone in the NFL on a week to week basis.

Houston and Jax are interesting options but neither team has playoff experience and are quite young plus Tennessee is a really good young team and if Indy ever fixes their OL Indy can be dangerous as well.

I have a feeling that this is Drew's last year as a New Orleans Saints football player.

never underestimate the unknown. jets have a ton of space, maybe they lure Payton and drew combo. its definitely realistic just considering cap space and qb dire need.

Can those teams afford him?

for the most part i'm pretty sure, always means to make a few cuts, manipulate space.
