Does anyone else a feeling that we've seen the last of Payton as well?

For some reason I'm feeling we have. Brees hangs it up. After seeing how BB did without Brady this year, he's not going to want to be seen as Drew carried him all these years.

No. It's a strange assumption that him and Brees are tied together.

Payton is a great coach and will continue leading this franchise.

I think SP is secretly relieved...Now he is going to have a QB that can throw more than 15 yrds down field

He went 8-1 the past 2 seasons with Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill at starting QB. He isn't going anywhere.

I'm not saying he retires. I just feel he may want to go somewhere else.

Are you suggesting Dallas is in his future?

Good. I hope he's invested with us for many more years.

They always come to mind but don't see Dallas parting ways with MM just yet.

When you have a top 5 all time QB in his prime at you disposal, it’s easy to draw up shite on a napkin and tell him to go do it.

SP is a good coach but he had it good for a while.

I honestly don't think he is leaving. He pretty much owns this franchise. And the chance to show and prove he is good without Drew appeals greatly to a personality like Sean.

I don't... as much as I'm sure he loved winning with Drew I'm also sure he is excited to get a chance to show he can do it without Brees.

He literally said this week he’s in the middle of his coaching prime

SP should have pulled the trigger on Brees last year. He was done last year and we stupidly gave him a 2 year contract. Where’s SP going to go with the freedom he has around here to make all the decisions?

I think Payton is actually seeming more revitalized and energetic than the previous few years.

Lack of a real downfield passing game really hampered Payton’s play calling with Brees this year. Don’t know if Stafford is a possibility, but I feel like he would excel with Payton.

Not at all.

I see Payton staying with the Saints until retirement, personally. He’s a good fit for us.
