Jack is a freak. If he wanted to play rb, he could probably be the top rb in this draft. Best athlete on Defense in the entire draft. Jack and Hargreaves are the two can't miss defenders in this draft in my opinion. They will start and make an impact from day one. Plenty of solid d lineman, but Jack and Hargreaves are way ahead of their respective groups. Jack is easily the top lb in coverage as well.

I don't think it's expected for him to miss year at all

Like no man I seriously do not see how this guy is not rated #1. I don't care if other people had torn ACL's and bounced back, Jaylon smith is not those other guys . He could easily be Adrian Peterson or Marcus Lattimore, could go either way.

First and foremost Jack is gonna be kueclky like in coverage but he's faster. Two, he is physical, mean, and packs a punch when he hits, and brings the intensity we do not have. How is this not a no brainier? Especially the coverage part

Take the healthy one, with our medical staff I do not believe we would maximize the talents of Jaylon Smith so please god let the not do stupid saints shite and draft Jack

We'll waste 2 seasons of his career before he can play here

On top of all that with our bad luck at RB, hell you could throw Jack back there for a few carries and save a roster spot for a few weeks if injury piles up.

i'd rather see the Saints take a D-lineman at #12 than Smith. I think they need more help at D-line than anywhere on the team.. just my opinion.

if Myles Jack is there by some weird stroke of luck though... hell yeah take him!

but say the Saints added a free agent D-line guy in free agency who is a starter caliber player... then maybe you go in different direction with your 1st pick? I don't know I just think if they loaded up on the D-line some problems would definitely go away on defense. The depth there last year was so painfully obvious as to why the pass rush wasn't all that good.

Doesn't mean he can't learn or get better. He's shown the ability before. Jaylon Smith is an incredible player. One weakness is not enough to undo the EVERYTHING ELSE he does at a high level.

Besides, Myles Jack probably won't even be available anyway.

I mean ACL and MCL?

Maybe he's ready in September, but he's gonna miss camp.

I would go by what Dr. Andrews says, but I doubt I'd pull the trigger at 12.

I think the Saints should be building for 2017 when they will be able to be more aggressive in free agency. I don't care when he'll be good to go, as long as they expect a 100% recovery this is my guy.

He has top 5 talent

So if he checks out heathy he won't be there

If he will miss some time the Saints prob will pass anyway

Yeah unless Jack has some character concerns we don't know about yet, there's no way he is falling to 12.

Ther's no way Jack is there at 12, unless he has some crazy red flags with conduct or medical issue unveiled in the next couple of months. He's great, but unless we trade up Jack is not going to be an option, so everyone calm down on that.

Jaylon Smith falling to the Saints would be amazing, having him and Anthony as every down LBs would do a lot for our defense. We haven't had a dominant LB core in a very long time, and Smith would be the #1 LB in this draft if he hadn't got hurt. He's my #1 hope in the draft, hopefully we could see him as a PUP list guy back after 6 games next season. When drafting we need to look beyond year 1, this guy could be a starter alongside Anthony (Hopefully Kikaha as well) for the better part of a decade. I still see LB as more important a need than any spot on the secondary, close second to DTackle, but that position is much deeper in this draft.

I agree that DL trumps LB for need but this is a historically deep DL class, especially DT. Mayock is saying sumpin like 19 DL with 1st round grades.

At #47 you might get someone like Billings, Adolphus Washington, Nassib, or Kenny Clark. All great value for that spot IMO

I'd take Jaylon Smith at 1 if I could.

When my life is really hitting on all cylinders I often think about a world where the Saints have Anthony and Smith playing next to each other.

It's always pretty much the greatest track my life could ever take, and as such I see little chance it happens. But if it somehow does, holy shite.

Mike D has said if not for getting hurt Smith would have been a top 3 pick. I would be tickled to death with either Smith or Jack but I don't think either will be there at 12.
