Do we take a QB with our top 5 pick next year?

So this will be my potential problem with the Shough pick (I don’t mind it right now). If we suck this year, Shough just looks like a rookie QB, and we pass on a top QB prospect I’ll be livid.
You draft QBs until you have one and can’t just pass a top 5 opportunity if you don’t have one established.

Hopefully there’s someone worth it. Maybe we get a stud at another key position and draft a qb with our top 5 pick in 2027

yup. even if shough does a solid job, should still draft a qb with a top 5 pick.
if we aren't able to select a top qb, that means shough did well enough. it'll take care itself.

I love that there are people seriously saying to tank for a quarterback whose best career win is Mississippi State, threw multiple interceptions against a five win UL-Monroe squad and couldn’t beat out Quinn Ewers for the job.
Maybe he’ll be good but outside of his last name there is nothing to back the ridiculous hype Arch Manning is getting across the football landscape.

Nuss will be the top pick in next year's draft. And yes we're taking a QB when we pick top 5 next year. Shough was a desperation pick, which is why some Saints fans (like myself) didn't like it. Wish him success, but it's very likely he's a career backup or traded within 2-3 years and we get our franchise guy in next year's draft.

They're not gonna pass the opportunity to get a legit franchise QB next April. They'll just have to admit their mistake and cut their losses.
It'll prove how short sighted the pick was, but it would be alot worse if they doubled down and passed on a Nuss or Manning.

So after everything that has happened today, you think it was a desperation pick? You know Carr and the Saints didnt just work this out today right? The Saints drafted Shough in the 2nd because the knew they would need a QB.
