Didn't trade up

One thing I haven't seen mentioned on here is that we didn't trade up. I am hoping we at least keep our 8 picks. I was really happy we didn't trade up for anyone costing us another pick or 2.

Lots of rounds left to go.

I meant specifically in the 1st round. To me that's the round that costs you multiple picks to move up. I seriously doubt we get through the draft without trading picks at some point. I'm just happy we didn't last night.

Loomis is itching to trade next year’s 3rd or 4th.

Just want Saints to come out of this draft with 3/4 players that can contribute this yr, the 5's/7's can be traded but keep 2/3/4

I really have no problem trading up in the later rounds of someone they like falls. Something like Alvin Kamara comes to mind. I hate trading up in the first round.

This is the year to package picks and move back into the second or grab an extra third. I could give a flying frick about whoever our 5th - 7th round picks would be.

I would not be shocked if we jumped up in the 2nd to get someone. There is some high level talent at the top of this round.

There’s zero chance they keep all 8 picks. Why keep them if they all won’t make the team? I’d rather use a few to trade up for a guy you feel good about, I just didn’t want to do it with 29 or 40 because that would mean giving up a future 1st most likely. After we pick at 40 I’m all for some wheeling and dealing from Loomis. If we came out of this draft with 4 solid players that would be an unmitigated success.

I have zero doubt someone high on their board will fall and they will be aggressive in getting him. Doesn't the chance of sticking in the nfl fall way off after round 3? 4?

After round 4 it’s a complete crapshoot. That’s why I’m all for trading up to get an extra 3rd or late 2nd. Get 3-4 guys you feel good about and call it a day.

Its all a complete crap shoot.
More than half of the 1st round will be bums.

True. I can see the Saints drafting more than 6 players and I'm good with that.

Nothing against Bresee but we could have traded down to get him if that is who they wanted.
