Did Tom Benson’s children even attend the funeral?

There have been tons of pictures each day on Nola.com. A lot of them have Rita in them. It seems like all of the others have other people like NFL owners, football players, bigwigs, coaches, etc. . I have not seen any pictures of his children. Am I missing them?

Maybe so. today’s funeral is private. But yeah, probably private just for family. Hopefully.

The video of the second line with Drew and Coach was awesome. They really did send him out the right way. I am not really sure why his children and grandchildren went at this legend, but they got what was coming to them.

I'm not saying Tom is a hero or a great guy but the man is a American success story and a great business man that a movie could me made about and his greedy arse kids are acting like trash. I would love to see these kids grow up like 90% of us have.

Did Edwards and the state give him the original ~$75 million he bought the Saints with? Obviously, Benson's wealth greatly increased over the past 38 years since he bought the Saints, but he wasn't exactly broke in 1985. He might have ended up as a billionaire with his banking and auto businesses. The guy was driven.

Two of the three children he adopted with Shirley are deceased, leaving only Renee, mother of Rita and Ryan. I think he also has three step-children from his marriage to Grace.

No, the State of Louisiana gave Benson $80M over 20 years to purchase the Saints from JM. $2.2B of his wealth or net worth is from the Saints.
