He took his ball and went home. Ultimate bitch move.

Respect to carr always seemed very positive. Can't hate the guy. But I do picture him with little bro syndrome after his interview when in his bro was in college.

Has to be something more to this story! There is No Way that D*&^head is walking away from that money out of decency or the goodness of his heart! Either way Carr! You Piece of Crap!
You're pretty unhinged about a guy that just did something pretty great for the Saints.

The best thing he could have done for us.
The bitch move would have been pretending he could still play.
He deserves major props for doing this for us.

So not all of that money goes away, get split into the next two seasons. So there’s still something but at least it’s a whole lot less.

Was 100% confident Carr was not playing for the Saints again but did not see retirement as the way out.
That’s like a perfect scenario for the team in terms of cap management.

He’s refusing to play for us and has given the organization zero support thru this entire process.

Shough was the better player which he obviously is.
Can y’all shut up with this stupid shite. Hopefully Shough is better, but he didn’t get picked earlier because of his play on the field. We went the Daniel Jones route and hopefully it works for us.

Can’t believe this thread isn’t a sticky, but anyway.

Derek Carr’s decision to retire gives the #Saints $30 million in cash and cap relief. In exchange, he gets to keep his $10 million roster bonus from March and the team will not seek reimbursement of his signing bonus.
