O well. I thought he was pretty knowledgeable when it came to the Saints, but I preferred to listen to him when he spoke about the Hornets.

What I heard was that there was budget cuts and he was in the wrong number.

dude has put in his time with them too, but its just another example of how shitty WWL operates
he was kaare's producer back when he was on in the afternoons in the late 90's early 00's
WWL is one of the main reasons sports fans in new orleans are as stupid as they are, BUT they keep catering to the average retarded NOLA sports fan and keep dumbing them down
there really isn't much of a market for good sports radio in new orleans
deke is a perfect example. BUT, he is loved in the black community, keeps his topics dumbed down and doesn't really like intelligent topics/opinions that differ from his..which is a recipe for horrible radio. but as long as new orleans keeps asking for it, thats what we're gonna keep getting
all we can hope for is when the saints contrct runs out with wwl, benson moves them to fox radio (since he owns the fox affiliate and wants to branch into radio in new orleans) then asshats like deke are out of a job, wwl goes strictly all news and hopefully benson doesn't require his hosts to suck the saints off every day....its highly unlikely, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed

Deke sucks, WWL sucks, sports radio in BR and Nola sucks. The best is Jimmy Ott, by far, of all the local guys.

Agreed, he is the best when it comes to pure sports talk....I'm sure Bobby Hebert is ok, though he seems hamstrung and caters to a bunch of idiots on the postgame show. I wish Buddy D. was still with us, you could at least count on him to tell it like it is.

WWL radio has gone downhill since Katrina. I rarely listen anymore. Deke, Garland, Bob Delgiorno and Monica Pierre all suck. Bobby is only tolerable when he is talking football.
