He has another shitty year he will be canned. Derek Carr is most likely coming to town folks, you better get used to the idea.

No, but do you know football and know how it actually works? If you lose games you lose your job. I don’t think I have to have a conversation with him to understand that. Do you?

A Headcoach does the best with who is currently on the team and plans for their strengths.
It's up to the General Manager to project into the future and take in feedback from the Head Coach as to what areas could use some change.

I honestly don't think it will end up being much.
If the saints were smart, they would stall till the raiders release him so they can sign him outright.
Like carr as a player but not at 40 mil.

I don’t put the Carr chase on Allen. It’s Loomis’ job to plan for the future and make sure short-term goals don’t interfere with long-term goals.
If your franchise is actively trying to win a Super Bowl at some point, every decision of this magnitude should come with the question “Will this help us win the Super Bowl either now or in the future?” If the answer is no to both parts of that question, why do it? If eventually winning the Super Bowl isn’t part of the calculus, then it’s just about people protecting their jobs.
Derek Carr is not going to help the Saints win a Super Bowl, next year or beyond. So why waste resources? Is Loomis also on the hot seat? I wouldn’t think so but this move seems more about trying to save somebody’s job than eventually winning a Super Bowl.
Bite the bullet, get the salary cap right, draft well, save future draft picks and look for the next quarterback who can help you eventually win a Super Bowl.

I like Carr is we were a qb away from being a contender I would say go for it he is onl3 years younger then Dalton and going to cost 20 a year more... not worth it to plow through a 8 9 win season.

From what I’ve read, if he is traded….then he will only count $15mil towards the new teams’ cap.

He will cost more in the open market than he will if we trade for him imo
Once he hits open market, there are teams in a way better cap situation who can outbid us fully
The smartest thing we can do is trade for him to have him under contract with us, in our control, and then make adjustments based on our specific cap situation

That’s false. If you trade for him and there’s no restructure, that team is on the hook for 120 million over the next three years.

Have you seen the crop of NFC quarterbacks lately? The road to the Super Bowl right now through the NFC is the easiest its going to get in a while. And with Tom retiring the south is up for grabs right now so we need to take it. We need to take advantage right now. We have the defense, and I think we can get the pieces we need on offense together.
