Elite level route running and he better put on some weight if not. Hes just a bit underwhelming for a top 10 pick. Guys running in the 4.5 to 4.6 range that are successful in the nfl all run elite level routes and aren’t tweeners.

I can’t believe people post shite like this and our idiot fans don’t call it out.

How in the frick would 6’2 Carnell Tate be a “tweener” at WR? What the frick does that even mean for a skill group like WR when there’s been so many successful body types at that position? JSN just won offensive player of the year and he’s 6’0 195 and ran a 4.52. But people underrated his route running, which is what people are doing to Tate. Tate IS a good router runner and most reputable draft pundits agree on that.

JSN went 20th when he was drafted. You trying to tell me teams wouldn’t take him top 5 in a re-draft? I’m not even a big Tate guy. I’d rather have Downs or Styles. But people knocking the guy for not being elite because of his 40 is the dumbest shite and it happens every year. If he ran a 4.68 then yeah, that might knock him down but knocking him for 4.53 is insane

I don’t necessarily disagree but these elite route runner types are the more wr1 types then your former prototypical aloga types these days

I’d opt for love over him as far as an immediate weapon goes but tate does fit the mold of a guy that can step in and be a contributor quickly. Again, if shough is the guy we’ve got a window here with him on a cheap deal, let’s put some top level weapons around him.

I’m sorry you’re too dumb to know understand that his height isnt an issue. He’s 190 lbs at 6’2. He’s very lean and like i continued to say he needs to add mass considering his speed. JSN is heavier than him and shorter than him. Hes also an elite level route runner. I never said Tate can’t be successful or good. I said he better be an elite level route runner because he isn’t fast at all like most scouts said they were worried about. He also came in smaller than expected. I’m not sure how that’s so hard for even a simpleton to understand

Bain and Downs being available at 8 is too good to be true. Not remotely close to worst case for the saints.

I like Downs, just not sure a safety is worth being picked that high. I’ll gladly take Tate or Bain if that’s what we get to chose from.

First time I’ve ever heard someone call 6’2 190 a tweener at WR and I’ve never heard of issues about his size before.

From Daniel Jeremiah’s breakdown on Tate:

quote:

Tate has good size but would benefit from more play strength. He builds momentum quickly on intermediate and deep routes, utilizing speed and tempo to pressure cornerbacks. He can win over the top on verticals or separate over the first two levels with route savvy and separation burst.

Guess I know we can just ignore you’re retarded fricking takes from now on. Stupid frick

You do realize JSN, Lamb and several other elite WRs have ran 4.5 40s and have been just fine, right?

You do realize you quoted me saying my comments didn't reference his 40, right?

In JSN's final year of production, he put up almost 2x the yards Tate did in his best year.

He means length. I’m sorry you don’t understand that 190 lbs at 6’2 and change is lean. His overall combine is and was disappointing. Olave is 2” shorter and weighs the same and we talk about his lack of physicality. Hes not a top 10 player you draft. In order for him to succeed in the nfl he has to be an elite route runner like the rest of the players who succeed with his limitations, if you can’t understand that then your mommy should have done anale that night

I’m sure playing with CJ Stroud vs Will Howard and Julian Sayin had nothing to do with that

Marcus Mosher, a senior analyst at Fanside:

This is why I'm so bullish on Carnell Tate. The QB play last season was rough. But besides that, you can see how easily he moves for a player of his size.

I’m sorry you have pisspoor reading comprehension and you have the uncanny ability to somehow deduce that Jeremiah meant length and not just overall size

How small do you have to be to think 190 lbs at 6’2-1/2” is good size. He’s lean and lanky and they talked about that during his combine workout

I think if his route running is elite he can be as productive but they’re very different players. Olave has elite speed.

Doesn’t he have one of the highest percentage contested catch rates in the draft?

That’s not Olaves strong suit.

As if it's a binary choice.

If we are set on drafting a WR, I'd rather roll the dice later in the draft on another WR2 type or one that can project as a WR1. I don't think the gap between that WR and Tate is wider than a gap between, say, Ioane and the next IO or Downs and the next S, etc.

In a draft with actual WR talent, everyone would laugh at Tate as a top-10 pick. He would have been competing with Jayden Higgins last year, and I believe Higgins would have gone ahead of him.

I heard Steve Smith Sr say a random crazy stat about Tate. Zero holding penalties in 600 blocking snaps.
