What I am fine with trading
This year’s 1st
Next year’s 1st
Trey Hendrickson (if possible through tagging him)
Marcus Williams (if possible through tagging him)
Instead of this year’s 2nd and next year’s 2nd
Offer Taysom Hill - (need his 12 million off the books and with Watson It would be less likely to have as many sub packages) and a 3rd this year and next year.

Fine also swapping Davenport into the deal and somehow keeping Hendrickson.

Some of you dumbasses really want us to trade marshon lattimore? Do you not remember who we had at CB guarding the opposing teams top wideouts before we had marshon? I member

I don’t want Lattimore traded

I want to keep excellence at all three levels
DL - Jordan
LB - Davis
DB - Lattimore

I’d offer a 1st this year, 2nd next year and the year following, and either Rankins or Lattimore. Davenport in my back pocket if needed.
A 1, two 2’s and a veteran player

Oh calm down sally..top tier corners go for anywhere between 16 million and 20 million per year

I dont "want" to trade lattimore as much as just not wanting to pay him 18 million a year to only be great against 2 or 3 guys

Meanwhile, Texans would have had the same record with Sam Darnold. Whoever overpays does Watson will regret it.

Saints can just pull a Ditka move, maybe throw in Malcolm Jenkins and see if the Texans are dumb enough to bite. Toss in a Peat or Rankins if it seals the deal

And Houston doesnt have to trade Watson. He is signed long term

Houston obviously doesnt care about their rep based on these last few years. They can demand just about anything

Sure he signed a deal, but that doesn't mean he has to play I'm sure he'll eat those fines over playing.

Houston doesn't have much leverage in this situation

Trade Davenport....we are losing Hendrickson this year. Proabably.

If you trade Davenport then you sign Hendrickson. Don't ask me about how the money would work, Khai Harley and Loomis will figure it out.

Trade Lattimore...which corners are left on the team??

We still have Jackrabbit, PJ, and PRob. We can also draft a CB if needed. I particularly like Joe Horn's son.

Look this would be a trade for the long term, not just for 2021. We'd obviously take a step back at CB and at DE depth but we'd have a franchise QB for a decade. Plus we wont be able to keep all the 2017 drafted guys anyway so at least we get some return if we trade them.

I'd build a trade around Michael Thomas if Watson was okay with him leaving assuming you get someone to replace him. That's really the only guy on Saints roster they can build a trade around because I'm pretty sure Watson will want some picks around himself to get better.

Even if he's a cap hit you dangle someone like Thomas, and 2 1st round picks since our picks don't have much value right now. Maybe dangle 2nd round picks with it and if they want defensive players so bad see if they want someone like Lattimore who's too inconsistent for us to give him a big contract. I also think Kamara will never play out to his contract. RBs simply do not have value in the NFL like they did in the past and the wear down quickly. Even as dynamic as he is I think he's at his ceiling and will decline within the next 3 years steadily. I don't believe in huge contracts for RBs anymore.

I don't know who we could trade on defense outside Lattimore. Davenport? They don't want old in Cam Jordan. If Saints make an offer Houston has to weigh do they want #1 pick in the draft and take a risk or take someone off a winning team like Saints that's a proven superstar like Thomas? Seems risky to rely on high draft picks. They could also take the Saints picks and trade up higher in the draft if they wanted to.

The other option is if Houston seriously entertains an offer from Saints they need to offload the veteran guys like Cam Jordan. Too big of a hit on cap and you trade bait them to not only use as possible ammo for a Watson trade, but to also give him picks to build around him. If they're not interested in certain guys, you could always put them on trade block to go towards highest bidder. Armstead/Jordan are like 20% of the cap. It's time for them to go and they both could probably fetch a good price somewhere to trade.

If you want a franchise QB and to seriously win a SB you're going to have to bite the bullet on roster turnover somewhere. Saints need to push the Patriots mold here get max value and young guys who are on their final years. We simply can't keep every player on this team no matter how hard we try so get what you can now for this opportunity to get a franchise QB.

The Texans have no clue, and McClain is a Texans mouthpiece. For weeks McClain has pounded the desk, saying everything was fine with Watson and the Texans, only to have both Watts and Watson voice the displeasure with Ownership and Management.
