Cowherd says the punishment is for the plot, not the actions.....

"You can get arrested for plotting to kill the President, even without killing the president." He said Saints fans who are saying there is no proof of injured players are off-base and delusional. The punishment is for the plot, not actually carrying out the plot.
What do you make of this thought process?

I stopped thinking about his thought processes a long time ago.

I'm not saying I completely agree with what he said is true. I just think that's pretty much how it was handled.

Then the media needs to quit referring to "all of those players the Saints had carted off".

If he said it like that, I'm alright with it.

I mean, it's an analogy. But I wouldn't say it's a good analogy.
Plotting to kill our nation's leader =/= rewards for hard hits

Bad analogy. There is a big difference between "I'm going to kill that em effer" on the football field than there is "I'm going to kill that em effer" IRL. Context is everything.
The Saints were spewing football rhetoric. If the rhetoric resulted into breaking game rules then the words spoken were not rhetoric. Otherwise the words were for motivational effect only.
Did the Saints words lead to breaking the rules of the game?

No matter how right on he may be, Coward would have forumlated his response, to whatever punishments were handed down, to be in the most agreeable fashion with the end result.
Had Goodell ordered Vilma to be stoned in public, Coward would have found a way to say Tony Romo's name 3 times, give one shout out to Eli Manning, jacked off one donkey off camera and found a way to justify Vilma's execution.

So we suspend Vilma for a year for the plot, but we suspend Ndamukong Suh for 2 games for actually trying to injure a player?
Not very consistent there, Rog...

There were no actions...even with multiple seasons of opportunity.

Dude...don't you know that talking about breaking rules is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> bigger offence than actually breaking the rules?
