you can't get arrested for talking about injuring another person.

NFL QBs are not the president

i can tell someone "Im gonna break that a-hole Bryans kneecaps!". that is not breaking the law

once again, Cowherd makes a stupid analogy

CowTurd is pitiful at what he does. He's the most closed minded sports personality in the media. They plotted it and never did it? WOW!

I dont listen to Cowherd, but from most things posted concerning him, I would call the guy an intentional shite stirrer.

That said, although he is once again plying his trade, the call to suspend these men is sound.

A poster brought up Suh....Suh didnt stand there, and lie to the Commish's face. The cover up generally gets ya as bad or worse than the actual crime.

I know this is killing die hard fans, but you guys have to take this one for the good of the league. I sure dont want my favorite players dealing with intentional injuries, and I hope you guys feel the same about guys like Brees, Ingram, etc.

Colston is just going to have to catch more TDs this yr.

If your kid is throwing rocks at your head, are you going to wait for him to actually hit you before doing something?

of course its for the plot.

these nfl games are professionally officiated and even reviewed after every single game.. players are punished on the spot if their on the field actions are deemed illegal.

Let's try to remember that it's not about breaking any laws.

I've avoided a lot of the media schtick during this whole thing. Sure, every once in a while I'll tune in to see what they say but you have to take what they say with a grain of salt. Like Cowherd, the guy has to be provocative to create an audience. I don't listen to his show because in my opinion it doesn't bring anything to the table, his act is old.

Through this whole thing, I've felt let down and disappointed. I think Goodell is an awful commish and would love to deck that son of a bitch. The coaches have plenty of blame to go around and they have paid for it, although I think Payton's suspension was way to harsh. The players (Vilma and Smith) have come out and denied any wrong doing and I want to believe them. This thing is just gonna drag out longer and that really sucks.

I think what that says is that if it was a plot conjured up and designed by the coaches and not a scheme designed by players (which is what we are told)...then there is essentially no defense for a player

If the players didnt make the plot, and the players didnt participate in the plot and they can still get punished...then they have no defense

Under cowherd's theory...every player should be suspended because the plot was organizational and not something done player to player

It is obvious the player suspensions are based on some type of physical evidence in participation and not just plotting from the sidelines, whether that be through hits or payments...the organization itself was punished for the plot

Yet another reason that I refuse to watch anything on ESPN outside of the actual games.

if you just watch his show for entertainment, its not bad. i usually watch it every morning because there is nothing else on when i wake up. had a caller today claiming to be a saints fan that said the penalties weren't severe enough. said that vilma and smith's backups should be suspended too to really make the team feel the punishment. it was quite funny.

Nice to see the Commissioner subscribes to the Minority Report method of crime and punishment.

Is rewarding someone for "what they're trying to do anyway" the same as "manslaughter?" Cuz Goodell must feel that way, the punishments are the same.
