I guess we agree to disagree...

The Falcons got all the breaks and had no injuries? Sure, we got some breaks but good teams do. Luck is part of a season! (See Saints in 2009, see GB last year. If GB doesn't get help in the last 2 games of the year, even that Philly game - THEY DON'T GET IN THE PLAYOFFS and win a SB!)

As for Aaron Rodgers, remember just 2 seasons ago when everyone dogged him and said he was a great QB but hadn't won playoff games (similar to matt ryan)? Now he's considered one of the elite.
Rodgers hadn't won a playoff game either and then won all AND the SB.

It only takes one magical season...

falcons are better at WR and i guess RB, but that's it...we are better at the other positions and have better coaches

Don't worry. If the NFL lasts long enough, the Failcons are bound to have one.

I agree...often what separates a winner from a good team..is luck. We will see who is lucky this year. Last year...Falcons were lucky. Only time will tell if they can be lucky 2 years in a row, or if this year they will just be a good but unlucky team who watches some one else win the Super Bowl.

Last year Atlanta's 4 losses (including postseason) all came to playoff teams and 2 of those were to teams who played in the Super Bowl. 3 of New Orleans' losses came to teams with losing records and another to a team that didn't make the playoffs. I'm not saying Atlanta is far superior but for anyone to argue that the Saints are clearly better is just a homer.

Two things.

1) I don't think anyone said the Saints are far superior. We just think that the Saints are a better team. Atlanta will be good.

B. You are on a Saints board. Don't be surprised to see a bit of a bias.

Cowherd says whatever is polarizing that gets ratings. On Friday he said that Rogers-Cromartie was the Cardinals best player and Philly got a steal even though everyone knows that Larry Fitzgerald is their best. To him a comment doesn't have to be true. Just polarizing an ratings boosting. He is a douche.

Oh NOEZ! Someone didn't get all wet over the Saints? They must be retarded and don't know about sports!!!

Saints are good. Falcons are good. Period.

To make comments like the below are retarded:

quote:

I mean, we split the series last year, and if Hartley doesn't miss a chip shot my grandma could make, we sweep em.

Yep. And if we don't fumble at the 1 - we dominate you. Shoulda woulda coulda scenario's are for losers.

Everyone of you doggin' on the Falcons just proves one thing to me. You're a bit nervous deep down...

I understand breaks are part of the game, but when comparing two teams before the season starts, you can't account for that. And there's no way anyone in their right mind can honestly believe that the Falcons are leaps and bounds ahead of the saints like most of the media is insinuating.

And no I'm not nervous, because I know that for Atlanta to beat us, they need breaks, which won't happen all the time. Atlanta drafted a receiver...la dee freaking da!!! That doesn't make them a top 5 team.

And saying the saints are better than the falcons isn't dogging anyone. It's stating a fact based on what we're seeing now.

Debating the top 8-10 teams in the pre-season is purely so the media has something to talk about.

Not one person on here or anywhere in the world has any clue how the season is going to unfold. Not one person thought GB was going to win a super bowl last year, then they barely get into the playoffs and kick arse and now everyone is saying they are the greatest team of all time.

It is all dumb. I understand it's the offseason and people need shite to talk about but does everyone realize how dumb and meaningless it is to have these discussions? Let the season begin and then start talking about who the best teams are. I am not going to believe the saints are better than the falcons, the falcons are better than the saints, or the packers are the best team in football until I start seeing some actual football.

Hmmm, he just gave his predictions for the upcoming season

AFC Division Winners:
Patriots
Steelers
Colts
Chargers

NFC Division Winners:
Eagles (11-5)
Green Bay (14-2)
Atlanta (12-4)
Arizona (9-7)

Said he had Saints winning the division, but because of how awesome Julio Jones is doing at camp, he is putting the falcons ahead of new orleans. He had the Saints at 11-5, and sad that they certainly didn't get worse, but he feels Atlanta did more to improve their team.

And yes, I'm completely aware that some of you don't care for Cowherd, so save the "Why are you even listening to him, he is a quief nugget, blah blah blah" comments.

What I find interesting, is it's not just Cowherd coming to this conclusion. I can't understand how you, as the media, could objectively come to the conclusion that the Falcons are clearly better than New Orleans. And I most certainly can't understand the opinion of how you can think the Saints didn't do as much if not more than the Falcons to improve the team. Mind boggling.

What are your predictions for the divisions this season?

It doesn't matter because the eagles dream team is going 19-0 so why are we even trying?

My point is that they all just each others information anyway so this happens a lot. That's any and every sport.

For DoubleDown.

Tony Gonzalez on his twitter:

This kid Julio Jones is the real deal. He's the best incoming receiver I've ever played with. Come to think of it, it's not even close.

I don't listen to the crap of that guy, he's like Bayless! the Saints has beaten Green Bay playin their best ball('09) when GB was on a lil mini streak, Atlanta couldn't get it done at home with all the advantages, had it been the Saints, the Saints would have taken care of business, bad defense and all!

We have the better QB, OL, RB, TE, defense, & special teams.

I wouldn't go that far. We have the better quarterback and offensive line. They have the better running back while we have more depth at the position. While Graham has the upside, they have a more proven TE.

Defensively we have the better unit... but they've made strides this offseason with the Edwards signing to pair with Abraham... and Will Smith is suspended to start the beginning of the year. They've paired Robinson with Grimes and that definitely rivals our starting CB's. We're young at OLB and could possibly start two rookies there so I'd give them the edge there. Our safety duo is better than theirs. All in all, I could understand an argument for them having a better defense right now.

Specials teams... had we not signed Sproles, I would have gave it to them. Now I see it as a push.

Solomon Wilcots, on NFL Network, is the only talking head that is showing the Saints some love.

Cowherd is a douche nozzle. He knows jack and shite about football. He probably couldn't name 5 current Saints players.
