Choosing between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill is like

Choosing between a crap taco and a turd sandwich. Some of the people on here seem to think that Jameis is great and that he’s our savior, but he’s not. He’s terrible.
He’s pretty trash. He’s the hero we deserve, but not the one we need.
If the QB of the future is not in this draft, maybe we can stock up on receivers, a tight end and linemen and get the team ready for the next QB of the future.

That is all you and the others on here just to trash people ON THE TEAM, need to post to actually appear to be fans of the team.

In 6.5 games without Michael Thomas, Winston threw for 14 TD and 3 INT while leading us to 4-2 (5-2 if you want to count the game he got hurt).
He may not be amazing or even our QB moving forward but most realize he is probably the best bang for your buck given the Saints cap situation, potential lack of FA QB interest, and underwhelming QB draft class.

I agree. I hate jameis too. Always have since Florida state.
But he’s our best option going forward. Especially if Thomas comes back

What’s funny is the only posters I see make this statement are the ones that don’t like him and want the team to go in a different direction. They then accuse others of thinking Winston is our next HoF QB. But the reality is, it’s been pretty consistently stated that he’s the best option out there (especially now that it appears Wilson & Rodgers are off the table) until the team can get their next guy.
Also, this is not, the draft class to target your next franchise guy out you’ll be pissing away picks for your next guy like most of the bottom dwellers

The only way I’d want Jameis back is if the Saints are actually considering Bridgewater (which I have read they are).
Otherwise, get someone else. Preferably Wilson.

James threw for 9 TD against 2 of the league's worst pass defenses, and was wildly inconsistent the rest of the games. Accuracy issues, hospital balls to his receivers, and just being a general cornball and joke.

Taysom was getting better towards the end of the season. You could def. Tell he was getting much more comfortable as a starter.
You give him some weapons besides trash receivers and the saints will be back.
He might not be the next Brees, but Brees tended to fold in those tight play off games anyway. Fold like a lawn chair.

I got downvoted to infinity for that post, but Bridgewater is going to be cheap AF, knows the offense, and had similar production to Jameis when he was here. Hes not the QB I want, but I really see it being a possibility.

Spot on, some people on here think he's great because he can throw a deep pass. Jamarcus Russell can throw the length of the field, but he couldn't read a defense to sav his life. the NFL is no a street ball game and Winston is not the future nor 'is he a good QB. He has never won in this league and he never will. He had a great team in Tampa and couldn't make the playoffs. the only reason he went 5-2 is because Payton ran kamara like crazy the most a Saints offense ran under Payton.Winston was a situational passer. that's why his TD to INT ratio was good...It was padded stats and that all it was. he was exposed when the Saints was missing McCoy because Winston could not call the O-Line blocks like Brees did.. He had a year to learn behind Brees and didn't show anything even close that he had studied... All the Winston fans see one thing and one thing only he can throw the deep ball. but accuracy and consistency he doesn't have. sorry but its true. just watch the games...

Jameis will demand top tier money while being a third tier QB. He is a hard pass. Play a year with Taysom or a journeyman and hit the draft or free-agency hard next year.

This isn't possible, Taysom can't stay healthy to even play half a year.

Speculation, or have you seen some reports leaked? I could see him asking for mid-range pay; but he doesn't have a lot of leverage with other teams if he's not on track to be a full participant by TC.
But agree, if he's asking $25M+ (12th highest in 2022) then you have to pass. Get him under $18M (17th highest), you take another shot w/ Winston. $18-25M is a tough decision, and you need to see who else you may be able to secure

Can we bet on how many fumbles he will have?

Jameis Winston at 25 million is difficult to envision and should not be considered at that tier on the pay scale. Also, Winston should not get credit for the first regular season win against Tampa Bay, as he was injured and out before the game was decided. In fact, if I remember correctly, the Saints were losing when Winston departed.
Still, Winston certainly gets a solid 4-2 record as a starting QB, just as Taysom Hill gets a 4-1 record at starting QB last season. Between them, they were 8-3 at the position. The Saints were snakebitten by multiple injuries all along the offensive line and at QB.
Even with Michael Thomas returning, the Saints must get a difference maker at wide receiver in the draft. Another draft of an OT like Ryan Ramczyk would be capital. If the Saints can hit on those two positions, either Winston or Hill are serviceable enough to win ballgames and make noise in the playoffs with this defense. With Lutz returning, special teams shall be back to where they need to be as well.

Well, he is only like 16 y/o so it does make sense. He thinks Winston is "pure trash" and "no swag".
