Carr to the Saints makes sense

Dennis Allen drafted him and he would be better than any other realistic option this offseason.

He's not any better than Dalton.

Not this season. Really don't know if we can expect Dalton to play well again next year. I think it's a better chance carr is better qb next season, but not sure I'd be willing to make the move necessary to get carr

He's certainly better than Dalton.
Problem the Saints have is they have no one on staff who can coach up a QB

Bring his old OC, Greg Olson with him. Carr was good under him

Except we would have to go through even more extreme measures (beyond the already significant ones we’re going to have to do just to get compliant) to make cap space to fit him. That’s on top of giving up capital to acquire him via trade.
Makes absolutely no sense. This team needs to roll with a cheap FA or even a rookie next year. If they get a draft pick high enough to get the guy next year, take him. Otherwise, wait until 2025. This team needs to stop recklessly spending in FA and start healing their cap.

This is the issue I would have. How much would it cost for the Saints to get him. They have to give up assets which are needed to build the roster with cheap rookies, and then have to carry his $33M salary. Sure the team can work out the deal to push the cap number back, but to what extent? They then have to deal with $42M a year salary in 2024 & 2025.
If the Raiders can't find a trade partner and cut him (saves them $29M in 2023), there will be a number of teams with a lot more cap space that will be bidding for his services.

"but..but..but.. sean...and brady...."
Who knows WTF the Saints will do. The SAints probably dont even know what the Saints are gonna do.

Gross.
Still hoping we can draft a Franchise QB early somehow.

Dude just got ran out of Vegas…. What in the world makes y’all think he’d be a good QB here?? Name recognition? What are you basing us off of? Genuinely curious

I don't dislike Carr, but really dislike his contract.

And how much do you think he is going to go for in a QB starved league?
Are those extra millions he will take get us a good run in the playoffs?
If we had all the pieces from all the major players, DC,OC and HC with no holes just needing a new QB then sure.
But why over pay vs JW or Andy to go where exactly?

Man did you watch that Raiders Saints game or any of the other Raider games?
I’m not a Dalton fanboy, but give him Josh Jacobs and Davante (Adams) and I think he outplays 2022-2023 Carr by a mile.
We do need a new QB, but not Carr

I have no idea where Allen came from
Jacobs is a good bit better than Kamara though

Why don't we let Allen or the next coach try to build this team how they want? Not just trying to make pieces fit into the jigsaw puzzle Payton screwed us with?
