This. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze with what we already have.

Exactly...just takes an owner willing to write big checks up front.

And sacrificing future caps with dead money, costing your ability to retain young players you drafted.

It’s gonna feel real cheap once the 2020 QBs start signing

So, $37.5 million per year. Not bad. Reasonably priced.
Currently 9th highest paid contract. Lamar will be higher, so it falls to 10th. Joe B gets an extension, contract is now 11th highest. Add in wild cards of Daniel Jones & Jimmy G, contract could be in the 11-13 range before the season starts. Like you said, reasonably priced.

That's like saying you got a good deal on a new, financed car when you're $500k in CC debt

I mean the timing could not have been better for Carr, found the right team willing to pay him to continue slight relevancy
you need a 2017 type draft this year for it have much of a shot outside of winning a piss poor division

This is what happens when desperate men are trying to keep their jobs.

Exactly. People here get sticker shock but that’s how much QBs cost now. Daniel Jones wants $45MM

My favorite thing about this board is how people like to compare shitty quarterbacks to a hall of famed Drew Bree’s.
It’s like clockwork here.

We had a title window.
We do not currently have a title window.
The point of blowing it up for that window was to take our medicine after the window closed.

And then we won't be able to re-sign them

What do you want them to do? Draft Hendon Hooker?
They’ll have to make it work. No QB, no shot.

Lord no.
We have to start taking our medicine and beginning our roster to permit the rebuild in 2025.

I mean, this is about what I was expecting once he became a free agent. According to NY insiders, the Jets told him "no" Saturday night. Were not willing to put up 100 guaranteed.
Was not a huge fan of Carr but he's a Saint now. Look forward to seeing him in Black and Gold.

and here's the thing, this management group should not have feared a rebuild. Gayle wouldn't have fired them if they laid out a post-Brees/Payton rebuild plan.
I think this is a move to keep attendance from cratering and keeping the coffer full.
