"5/8ths or 10/17ths" would be more confusing. And I looked it up and the checks are divided into 17 weeks, so it's a "mute point."

Early extensions for other players could lower their 2018 hits, creating more space — names like Cam Jordan ($14.4 million against the cap), and Ingram ($5.3 million).

Oh well than this makes it easy to me! It is no secret that it is likely Ingram and the Saints part ways at years end. Ingram is good and all, but every snap he takes is likely one away from Kamara, who is special. Trade Ingram to a RB needy team like Philly, Buffalo, NE, etc. Then, that frees up a lot for PP. Then we just need to find a serviceable bruiser back to make up for Ingram.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the plan would be to move money elsewhere, but if I had to choose 1 player for the rest of the year, I'd take PP over Ingram with no hesitation.

You won't win vs grind it out games without Ingram.

Thats the truth.

Kamara is great, but if I need to slow down a game you need an Ingram.

Include Peat in on the trade. Has a near 10 mil. Cap number next year.

Extend Brees, Jordan, and Warford. Done deal.

I would trade Peat, this years 4th, and next years 2nd for Peterson

LOL at people that keep spewing this dumb line. Did you not watch the first 4 games. Ingram is a top ten back in the league at worst. And he runs the screen better than Kamara (I'll fight anyone over this it's true.)

They don’t need to create 10 mil in space. They need to create about 4.5

That is easy. It’s getting Arizona to free up their superstar for less than a first round pick that’ll be the hard part

What doesn’t make sense is the same people that are laughing at the trade Ingram folks are claiming we should trade a draft class (2019) and a couple 2020s to get PP. What if we do loss Ingram at years end and trade away a bunch of draft picks? That makes zero sense for the future.

Just called the ticket office offering to pay them my 2019-2022 season ticket bill up front so they had the extra cash to complete trade. They said it didn't work that way, then I told them to #FreeDevinWhite

Until we find a decent backup, Ingram goes nowhere. Look how awful Williams and that Bills reject looked.

I don't want to give up Peat either - dude's a mauler.

I'd consider our 2nd and a young guy like Onyemata and/or Hendrickson. That's it.

I'm not mortgaging the future for Peterson.

the way it makes the most sense is to send them a player in the trade, that will give you a push on the money situation without needing to start shuffling lots of contracts.

they need "O" line help so we can surely move someone with enough talent to have the value to make it work

And we likely won't with with our current crop of cornerbacks.

Like I said, I'm not advocating for the trade to include Ingram, I'm sure it could get done with other players, ARZ likely doesn't even want Ingram. Just pointing out the hypothetical if I had to choose one, it's a no brainer to choose the lockdown CB.
