Franchising tagging Taysom would be fricking retarded considering it would cost us around 30 million.

Obviously this is dumb, but you could try franchising him as a fullback and save 29ish million

Taysom would sign a franchise tag faster than any player in nfl history.

Couldnt you look into the Jimmy Graham argument? He wanted to be paid as a WR even though listed as a TE. He couldve won if he lined up as a WR more.

Taysom has lined up more as a non-QB than as a QB, so could you tag him as something else?

this is just for argument sake. id rather restrict him with a first rounder and see what happens.

The tagged player earns the average of the top 5 players at the position. Do you really want to do that & have him playing special teams ?

Franchising him totally misses the point of why him being a potential starter has a huge upside. The Saints should be able to sign him for a relatively modest salary freeing up cap space to address other needs.

2nd round tender

Much cheaper and allows Saints versatility in terms of working out a deal vs saying F that give us the pick

Gunner isn't a position. He would be tagged as a QB.

Well considering it was the Saints who argued against that, idk if we can turn around and classify Hill as something else.

Hill has taken more snaps at WR than QB....Why would they Franchise him at QB money?....It would be WR or ST money

$30 million for The Mormon Missile......is a meager drop in the bucket...

That’s $2 million a pass for one year.....are the Saints stupid or what...

yes we argued against it, but lost the argument. We won the contract bc we played Graham more as a TE.

Now the rule would work in our favor.

Why wouldn't you want other teams to make an offer. It sets the market value while you still control the first right of refusal. If you tag him, he'll be unrestricted next year.

2nd round tender: $3M + 1st right of refusal
1st round tender: $4M + 1st right of refusal
Franchise tag: $25M

For those that want to argue WR: $17M
71 snaps at WR v 64 at QB in 2019
54 @ QB, 52 @ WR/TE in 2018 (Cannot find WR/TE split for 2018)
