I don't know if you want to say it was because Gregg Williams was in his head or maybe Cleveland is in his head, but Drew had an uncharacteristically bad game on Sunday.

While his passing numbers were obviously down due to a combination of factors I don't know if I have seen a game were Brees was off on his accuracy.

1) He misses Watson on a wide open Lob pass in the end zone. We lose 4 points there.

2) He underthrew Ginn on a wide open TD.

3) He delivered at least two passes behind the receivers on slant or in routes.

4) Failed to check out of a bad play or call TO against a blitz package twice.

1) It happens...he felt rushed and lobbed it up there
2) Nothing new, he has been under throwing open receivers for years
3) Only memorable because it was at the end of the game
4) Gregg Williams is a damn good coordinator who disguises his blitz well

Drew Brees did what he had to for a win...no turnovers, 80% completion...if this is a bad game, I will take that kind of production every damn week.

114 QB Rating. No ints. 80+% completion. This is a bad game? I have seen bad games. This was not a bad game.

I think with Brees there is a baseline and this is not enough of a pattern to just yet worry about his arm.

I am much more worried about the lack of pass rush and the missed assignments in the secondary.

28/35
234 yds
2 TD/0 INT
114.6 Rating

He wasn’t his usual spectacular self but that is very far from bad. Ask the Bills or Cards about that.

Actually Brees was almost identical, though slightly better, than Tom Brady. Big difference...he led us back and we found a way to get the W.

You have zero comprehension of the game if you thought he had a bad game

That missed pass to Carr right before the FG, it looked like he led him way too much but Carr was held up and messed up the timing. Should have been a flag.

Anyways, yeah, Brees sucks.

the latter more than the former.

There was at least some semblance of a pass rush yesterday so that is improvement at least from the previous week.

there should never be a wide receiver that wide open in the NFL and it looks like College football with no one around some of the receivers. This was supposed to be a strength for us. The pass rush has always been suspect and we knew Davenport would take a little time to develop (although he played well against the run)

yep, that was a quite obvious bad no call. completely messed up timing on that pass when he got deliberately held on break.

Are we sure Drew wasn't throwing to where Watson should've been- in the back of the endzone? Maybe Watson didn't get there fast enough?

I actually thought that looked like Watson’s fault watching live from the dome (didn’t really get to see replays). Watson stopped his route and Brees threw it to lead him to the back of the end zone.

The Ginn play was really the only terrible throw. That should have been an easy TD. It was clear as soon as Ginn hit his break he was going to burn the secondary.

Quite a few shitty calls in this game. That one seemed very obvious.

Timing route that was messed up by the db holding. Looked like Payton was chewing out Watson on the over throw. I don’t think he was supposed to chip on that play. The only bad pass was the overthrow to Ginn. He completed 80% of his passes with no turnovers on a day when they were getting good pressure up the middle. This is what ou expect from a hall of fame qb. OP is a moron

oh FFS. #4 is especially a terrible take.

Should we also blame him for the 2 holding calls on the Kamara TD. Or the fumbles by Thomas & Ginn that stalled drives early in the game?

This OP is a classic example of "the entire team fricks up the whole game, but we key in on Drew's 1 or 2 mistakes and act as if he had a bad day/cost us the game."

Drew played fine. The offense had some very costly mistakes and turnovers (we should have led by 3 scores at halftime), and the defense still doesn't have it together. Crawley got burned, and the line still isn't playing up to their potential.

Oh my goodness, you have it happened twice in your notes? I have 1 time penciled in, but I UNDERLINDED it!

He under threw 2 slants?!?! Did I read correctly? two/2 slants were under thrown in your opinion?! Oh wait, I'm sorry, it was "at least" two, and it was a "slant or in"; awfully specific there. If youre gonna make a thread to disparage a HOF, with bullet points, maybe you should like have some actual substance to post, not just "he should have called a time out against one of those blitz looks"

Tigerterrace; what exactly do you want to happen here, what are we supposed to "Talk" about. Do you want to talk about putting teddy in? Taysom? Just wanna chuck some shite at the wall? That's what I'm guessing, awesome. You are a solid Monday morning poster.

Unfortunately, I am usually pessimistic, but I have to say that I don`t agree with this.

I have been discussing Brees`s declining arm for years among my friends and he has both proved me right and proved me wrong. In no way can I say he is to blame in either game this season.

The throw to Watson was off, but it also looked like they chipped Watson and he lost his balance some.

The underthrows happen a time or two a game, nothing new as someone else stated. (lots of QBs have these)

The man is human and he isn't going to get every throw perfect and read every blitz package correctly. Our O-line is failing to block well a majority of the time for some reason. So the man isn`t fully secure with people blitzing, so he is trying to make reads quickly.

The biggest thing to me is he hasn't turned the ball over, when he has typically done that early in the season. His WRs and RBs on the other hand have.

That DB def. got in the way of Car on that pass. If not for that one step.
You could say he got away with some interference.

I wouldn’t say he had a bad game, but I would say his arm strength is getting worse and worse. He can’t get the ball 50 yards down the field for crying out loud
