We've discussed the likely reasons at length. I've listed my opinion of the reasons. It's a combination of all of the reasons listed. His reasons are understandable. People can have an issue of HOW he left (that is, very suddenly), but, of course, IMHO not "Why" he quit. People have the right to quit any job, of course.
Sean Payton told us that his "heart" was no longer in it. IMHO we can take this literally. There was a serious Bromance going on between Drew Brees and Coach Payton. When Drew Brees retired, he took Sean Payton's "heart" with him. That's why Payton's heart was no longer in it - it was gone - his heart was Drew Brees.
Payton perhaps got too personally attached to his favorite players. He got very attached to Brees. Did it hurt the team? Probably not, unless he really did have a chance to get Tom Brady. Taysom Hill is another of Payton's very favorite. Payton got him that huge contract. Did Payton's attachment to Taysom Hill hurt the team? We'll see whether that big contract was a wise Payton personnel decision or whether Payton's judgment was clouded by another one of his "hearts".

Except wife #2 already knew where he was coaching when they met. If it was a deal-breaker, then it should have been at that point.
Tell that to people in the military. They marry a woman , then when it’s time to move the woman says I never want to move. Lol

Did SP get someone pregnant to cause his first divorce or was that just speculation?

I really don't think it was the wife. It's not like they just met and got married. They have been living together in the shithole for years. If the city was a problem they could have easily moved out.
With that said, he had it easy with Brees as his QB and didn't have it in him to try and win with a team without a top 5 QB. Just watch, in two years he will land with a team that already has a top tier QB.

I think someone like Cam has every right to feel a certain way being that he went to war with the man every week since he's been drafted.
Still doesn't mean it's about him...

And when he's suddenly hungry again for Dallas next year?
Then we'll know for sure.

I don’t get it. The man said he doesn’t want to coach right now. Said he’s excited to do something different. Reserves his right to coach again in the future. How is that being disloyal? It’s a personal decision that he’s sure as hell entitled to make, as anyone has the right to make and wouldn’t want to be criticized for.
Poor Cam, he’s a player in the NFL. Are his peers disloyal when they leave the teams that brought them into the league and developed them? No, they go where the money is. Or they go to a better team to pursue a ring. It’s about the man and his family ultimately.
I get that Payton’s a cuck. That he thinks no one needs a gun shows he’s ignorant. But I digress. Whatever Payton’s reasons are for moving on can surely be criticized. But to characterize it as somehow offensive or disloyal is another soft take by the “emotional” athlete of the day. Gimme a break.

Some see it as it is he is taking a break and seeing how things go, likely will coach in the future but no definitive plan. Just enjoy retirement a year or two and see if the fire returns and likely get back into coaching
Some see it as a calculated move on his part to join another franchise while avoiding the responsibility of a difficult situation with his former team. Some think he absolutely wants to coach right now, just not this team (and that he knows what team he wants to and will coach and that it has been planned out behind closed doors)
How you read is is how you feel about it, either way he has the right to do it

I see that POV. But I also question the of criticism from Cam Jordan as a player who’s part of and benefits greatly on a personal level under the NFL system.
To say Payton left the Saints a mess and is running from it is subjective. For my part I disagree on the whole. He didn’t successfully plan for Brees’ departure and let the WR talent dwindle to shite. But absent unforeseen QB, OL and MT13 injuries this team was going to compete for a SB. And he leaves the Saints with its best defense in 30 years and with a culture and respect unprecedented in its history.
Again, it’s all subjective, and I respect the alternate opinions. Just comes across as petty IMO to say he’s running from a mess and being disloyal. Especially from Cam who won’t be the first player to say “it’s a business” when he moves on to greener pastures.
Let’s not forget Payton’s walking away from apx. $20 mil left on a contract. He’s leaving a lot on the table, money he won’t match as a TV analyst.

He's nailing it.
It can be a simultaneous "thanks for all you've done coach"
but at the end of the day payton is saying
"i want to move on from you". City/fans/players/staff/etc.
This 1000%
HE QUIT
And I know it might mean nothing to most of you…
He broke a contract he made with the Saints Organization and fans.
He is NOT RETIRING …he said so
HE QUIT
And tore up a contract
