Dree has made $221,710,422 in salary during his career (according to sportrac). This is not counting endorsements. His "company" he works for is different from everyone's "company" on this website. He can afford to take a paycut if he so desires

It's a matter of perspective my friend. It's the lifestyle you are accustomed to. Im willing to bet Drew's electric bill is more than many of our mortgage payments are. Bigger paychecks usually equal bigger Bill's.

Also guys in the NFL have to strike while the iron is hot. Players don't play until they are eligible for a social security check.

His arm is almost done. He wasn’t great after week 12. He had no zip on that football.

If I'm Brees and the organization says hey man, take a cut so we can get better. I'd probably say, OK sure, but first, tell me what you're going to do with that money, and be specific. Who are you going after? What positions will get an upgrade? And whatever you're going to do, I want some say in the matter.

He wouldn’t have to make upgraded subway sandwiches if we ever paid the guy.

If Brees doesn’t take a cut, he will be right there with P Manning for most $ ever made. He signs another contract and he’s over the top for sure.

P Manning, E Manning, and TB are up there but Brees will have more. There are 15 SB appearances between them all.

Brees has as many SB appearances as joe Flacco.

People don't realize that throwing a pile of money in to grabbing free agents doesn't guarantee you will make it back to the NFC Championship game.

Of course people realize this! They also realize the saints could use a #2 WR, o-line depth, and maybe a CB to help get back to the NFC champ game.

A 35 million qb hinders upgrading at those positions.

Also I am not sure it’s even possible for him to take a major pay cut. He can take a cut for sure but he can’t just say he will play for free. There is some sort of deal with the players association that prohibits things like this. At least it’s like that in some leagues.

Remember when he invest $10m into Waitr then a few months later the company was sold for $308m.

I dont see Drew as the type of guy to blow $10M a year. Which is what he would have to spend to negatively impact his net worth

It'd really set a bad precedence for guys wanting to get paid later in their careers for sure.

His 2/50mil pay cut was cheap considering all things.

We don't need him to take a pay cut when we actually can afford to keep the cap hit, keep free agents, and upgrade.

Cutting a guy like Coleman gives you 4mil(?) in relief... That's enough cap relief to pay for Ingram.

I get that Brees never took a discount because he was so high up in the players association and saw his contract as the bar setter for his peers.

Lol. I mean, I don’t really want all this money but I have a moral duty to take it.

Love Drew and don’t blame him for getting paid but come on with this shite.

He's such a greedy bitch there is no way he will take a paycut.

After the game I looked at my phone and saw Brees in an advertisement for some other bullshite company / scheme that wasn't Advocare.
