Interesting fact - those were mock ups for the photo shoot. The actual jerseys had much thinner numbers at first. Then we had the more standard thicker numbers going forward.

The numbers and helmet match but not the pants. I don't think all three have ever been the same but I could be wrong
I feel like the pants in that Gleason pic from 2002 are at least as close as the Cowboys helmet is to their pants or our current helmets are to our standards pants

Can we get Tulane Stadium back?

Will they also change back to the old gold helmets and old fleur-de-lis? Pointless, to wear these old uniforms with the current khaki gold helmets.

We did the old FDL for the Rams game last year (see pics in OP) but did not change the hue of the helmets.
It's weird to me how literally every other NFL team that wore home throwbacks this year went all out on marketing, field decor, stadium wall banners, internet marketing, etc. but the Saints just drop it using a Madden graphic on Twitter with zero fanfare. Only the Lions changed JUST the uniforms for Thanksgiving (but that's kind of a tradition for them). Every other team went all out.
Patriots
Vikings
Eagles
Titans (Oilers)
Buccaneers
Falcons
Giants
Broncos
Dolphins
Seahawks

Just make the helmet match this time. Not much to ask for.

Can we just update these a little and make them permanent? Saints are in need of a refresh.

Nike has done this in one sense or another quite often since they got the NFL rights. Bills, Vikings, Cardinals, Rams, Jets and Bucs (to 80's and 90s respectively), too many colleges to list... only the Falcons went full future with a rebrand.
All are either throwbacks or "fauxbacks" (Vikings where it's close to originals but not quite exact).

Nice. Can't wait to watch Carr be absolutely terrible in these uniforms. It will really be fitting honestly.

All this talk about the helmets not matching the numbers and pants is accurate but they had the same issue with the throwbacks worn in 1995.
The best uniforms was in the late 70's early 80's era.
When the do get around to updating the uniforms, they should use this use this design and color shade as a starting point.

Commemorating Dennis Allen setting us back 50 years

Maybe they could get Billy Kilmer to hobble on the field and throw a couple of TD’s. Can’t be any worse than what we have seen so far.
