Bradley Chubb for Sean Payton

That’s the deal in a nutshell.
Bradley Chubb to the Dolphins for the 29th pick received in the trade for the 49ers moving up to draft Trey Lance in 2021. The 29th pick for Sean Payton.
The second rounder is fodder and Payton gets a say in how low that’s going to be because he has an opportunity to do well in Denver early.
And when you look at it that way, it isn’t good.
Flipped an oft-injured LB for the best coaching candidate on the market in decades.
Brutal. Denver hit the ROI jackpot and the Saints are playing - and losing - the penny machines. With our rather choppy success in drafting lately I have zero confidence we turn that pick into anything of note.
Bradley Chubb for Sean Payton. Let it sink in. Don’t care we could’ve gotten nothing - Payton would’ve rotted on the vine before I got so little and Denver got a top 5 head coach in the league.

We didn’t trade Chubb did we? The Chubb deal was done and over.
The Broncos gave up their asset, No 29 and the 2nd, for Payton. You miserable fricks are exhausting

Never said we did, just that Denver essentially snowballed Chubb into Payton nailing great ROI.

And yet every article from every expert I have seen about it talk about how the Saints won this trade.
The whole, I would have taken nothing before getting so little shows that your opinion is purely emotional

Except I don’t see Chubb on our roster so……wrong.

Of all the dumb takes over the last 12 hours this is up there with the dumbest

I mean the 1st rd pick is basically a 2nd rd pick, so how can the 2nd rd pick jjst be fodder

I'm sorry...what? Like, exactly what are you talking about? Have you spent too much time outside the perimeter? One too many ambushes? I don't understand your dinky-dau logic. I'm not even sure if I know what firebase you're on.

Your objection here seems to be who the Broncos gave up to get the pick they traded to the Saints you admit you’d rather get nothing vs a pick that was traded for a “bad” player. Let that sink in.
The Saints are essentially getting a free first round pick, how the Broncos acquired that pick is irrelevant

What? If he's a top 5 coach then he's going to get the money he wanted next season anyway.

Saints turned a coach who retired and no longer coached them into a 1st rd pick and then next year, moved their 3rd up into the 2nd. Whether they didn’t get “enough”, they got something for essentially nothing.
The Gruden trade was snap decision. Hasn’t happened since.

Cool “I was in the Army too” attempt, but nobody really cares. From the Denver side, this was the deal in a nutshell. They turned Bradley Chubb into Sean Payton on their end.
Is what it is and the blind fanboys can’t get over it.

Yea anyone who doesn’t see the same way as you is a “fanboy”. What ultimately was the point in the deal? To get over on the Broncos or to get extra picks we didn’t have before for a coach that didn’t want to be here any more?
To judge a trade from the perspective of the other team traded a “bad” player for a draft pick and then used that pick to get a coach as a failure is just looking for something to bitch about and be miserable.
