re: Bigger gut punch: Payton retiring or Rams No Call

The No Call game angered me more than the LSU 1/9/12 game. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing on television. Blatant cheating and no repercussions for the officiating crew. It was like allowing O.J. to go free when everyone knew he was guilty. No fairness.
I am not sold on the league being fixed 100. but I believe shady shite does go down from time to time and the bosses in NY basically look the other way.

Losing Payton and heres why.
Its going to be hard to find a guy to match our level of petty. I hope the next guy takes the rivalry games as serious as Sean did.
I want the next guy to be as aggressive as Sean was even to a fault. Playing afraid to lose sucks. In certain games last year Payton lost a bit of that edge. Not having a guy like Brees to depend on is a big reason why but still.
The no call game was a kick in the nuts but having no identity is even worse.

Losing to the Seahawks in 2010 was terrible
Losing to the VIKINGS on that last play

Nothing---nothing---will ever top that game for me. It's the extreme on one end of the spectrum to the Tracy Porter SB pick six on the other for me. Inviolable for all eternity.

Rams no call easy. That gets another Super Bowl. Brees retires earlier and we get Brady for another ring shot!

Payton for sure. I could careless about anything to do with the Rams.

I agree. Perfect example during last week's Bengals/Chiefs game, the Bengals committed many overt penalties that weren't called by the refs, especially later in the game. Don't get me wrong, I was pulling for Burrow and the Bengals, but the game should be officiated fairly. I did see a bias toward CIN.

No call. X100. It was fixed.

The no call for sure.
I understand Payton wanting to get away for a while.
I'll never understand the no call.

The Goodell hate for the Saints when they were in their prim-est. BountyGate - draft picks lost.
Goodell killed this organization for a very long time.
We have continued to feel the Goodell factor the entire CSP period in NOLA

Rams, no question. I’m happy Payton stayed as long as he did. All good things must come to an end, and I wish him well.

No call deadened my passion to a point where with Payton retiring I’m like “it is what it is”
This about sums me up as well.
