See below.

quote:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Baker Mayfield agreed to a three-year deal for $100 million in total and $50 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN on Sunday. Mayfield is set to make $30 million in 2024, $30 million with $20 million guaranteed in 2025 and $40 million in 2026, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. There's $5 million per year in incentives, brining up the maximum value of the contract to $115 million.

LINK

$33.33 million per year and 15 million extra in incentives.

Edit: I recall a large amount of ranters on here insisting that Baker wouldnt get close to Derek Carr money.

Lol, guess we know who’s downvoting a mere update post.

Baker only works when he is against the odds. This is a massive overpay for a guy that had a competent season against a shitty division

Meh. It was clearly obvious he was about to get this type of money after this season.

33.33$ million per year for a qb isnt bad considering Daniel Jones is getting 40 million etc.

Based on the link it says Mayfield is guaranteed $50M vs $100M that Carr was guaranteed and Mayfield is 4 years younger, so no it’s not “way worse”. Unless they have extend and restructure next year. Though as a Saints fan I find it welcome news that Tampa is sticking with him for the immediate future

I’d rather have Mayfield than Carr. One QB got his team to the playoffs and the other guy who didn’t is Carr.

Really bad take.

Bakers best season (last year) is basically Carr’s average season, statistically.

Theyre both essentially 3 for 100, at the time signed, except Saints guaranteed more, and Bucs willing to pay up to 115$.

Bucs def going to retructure, they restructure as much as anybody.

Def way worse. Baker hasnt put together two good seasons in a row since he’s been in the NFL.

If he lacks consistency he’s basically Daniel Jones.

At least Carr is consistently mid tier.

Def not what you said. You thght he wouldnt sniff Carr money, and many on here thght he wouldnt be offered Geno Smith money (3 for 75mill).

And youre still dumb for saying his contract would be in the mid twenties.
