He's not gonna run 40 yards at a time. He is so quick off the ball. Thats always been his strength. 40 time means nothing.

Watch him come off the ball.

I mean is it though? Mathieu got kicked off the team after a Heisman finalist year for just that. Key could have ended up the same way, off the team completely, out of football for a year, hoping to get drafted at all. He took the time, "fixed his problem" as Orgeron put it, and is now still likely a 1st rounder. He saved himself at least 2 rounds of $$ by putting in the work.

He at least deserves the credit for that.

Key may end up drafted later than Mathieu. Did you hear his interview yesterday? He was defiant as frick, not a good look.

Tyrann was the 5th pick of the 3rd round FYI

When he ran the 40 I bet the 10yrd split was fast but you can see he just isn't a long distance athlete

Go look at his runs. He did not get off the blocks fast. I would be shocked if his 10 yd splits on those runs were any good.

Agreed. He's too light for D-line and too slow (4.9) for LB. Plus he seems unmotivated/lazy if you listen to reports of off field issues. Just my .02.

Guys spend months training exclusively for combine tests

If Key didn’t, and of course he didn’t, it’ll show up in poor technique and poor times. Watch his tape if you don’t think he’s a good athlete

He didn't perform poorly in the drills. Just the testing part. Mike Mayock said he was exceptional at DL drills and such.

I'd be absolutely shocked if he's not drafted in the top 2 rounds. Pass rushers, even with baggage, will have someone take a chance on them.

I agree he bombed the combine and isn’t worth a 1st but If we can get him in round 3 I would still take him. Possibly trade for a late 2nd.

Measurables never tell the full story. He’s a natural pass rusher with great length and bend. He needs to get his playing weight up around 260-265 though. Cam would be a great mentor for him.
