I never tried to claim that. Dallas traded up for Taco last year, and admitted after the fact that they had a second round grade on him but really felt they needed to get a pass rusher before the "drop off" to the next group.

Teams put a premium on pass rushers, and some do it to the detriment of their team by reaching on flawed players. We see that every year.

I'm saying I wouldn't touch him in the first, and I don't think he fits our scheme so I hope the Saints don't either. I couldn't care less what other teams might do. There's a reason the Browns are the Browns, and the Cowboys keep thinking they'll get back to the glory days this year.

I'm not trying to argue. Saints are bringing him in for a visit and I'm voicing my opinion on why I think he'd be a bad fit here and isn't worth a first rounder.

I'm glad we agree the Saints shouldn't take him. It'd be "like" the Kikaha situation where he's really too light to be an every down end, only we are swapping injury concerns with "something" that isn't being discussed publicly.

cant compare him to Kikaha who, athletically, was never an NFL edge player.

If Key comes out and runs a 4.93 ill be concerned

Players with a strong work ethic don't balloon up with 40-50lbs of extra weight in one season.

Sure buddy. It seems you are the one who has no idea what you are talking about. Even Key's dad said he was at risk at ruining his football career but I guess his own father doesn't know either, right?

He almost lost the game, his father says.

“I never thought his football career was in jeopardy, but he needed to take time so it wouldn’t put his career in jeopardy,” his dad said.

His dad was talking about his pain pill problem, which combined with his shoulder surgery is why he gained weight. Again, you’re a dumbass

IF he runs 4.7+, I don't think he's going in the first round.

Mingo was getting 1.5 sacks a year in college. Chadboi did think he'd be a star.

Nah. Key has room to develop into an everydown player. Mingo was always slight and a one trick (albeit an important trick) pony. Key has always been better against the run. Key also had better coverage skills in college. Mingo rarely dropped back.

Sean Payton loves to troll LSU fans - no way we draft him.

This is actually one LSU player I’m a bit iffy on anyhow.

It's very interesting how the diehards have shifted so far on Key in a year. Last season some of my friends were yelling to "suck for Key" as they had no faithin our ability to rebuild and they were sure Key would be in the top 5 this year.

I understand how much happened during the offseason, but if the guy was getting off opiates, and had a surgery, weight gain is a symptom of both those issues. In my eyes, stepping away from the comfort zone of the LSU football program to go and tackle a serious issue like pain pill addiction, which is extremely common among football players of all playing abilities, is a sign of maturity. I feel like LSU fans are upset he had a down year and are bashing a guy they thought would carry LSU's defense last season and was just OK. But I imagine if we went back and looked at posts from last year around this time consensus would be he has all the tools to dominate in the NFL and the Saints would be lucky to have him, now everything is in question, including an incredible '16 season.

In my opinion, if you can draft a guy who has top 5 pass rush ability late in the first, it's worth taking a closer look at. Key will interview and if he has the right answers for last seasons dip in production, I am pretty sure a team will take a flier on that talent. This is a league that has shelled out top guaranteed $ to guys coming off major injuries this offseason; they look at more than just last season and gamble on talent.

I think if he's available, the Saints will take him. I am basing this only on the fact that LSU homers are actually talking shite about a LSU football player with first round talent for the first time in recent memory, and it will be hilarious to see them bash the first LSU player the Saints have drafted in a long time, while continuing to complain that the Saints never draft LSU players.

Not really into players that skip their junior year. Those players often skip the final drive of the game when we are up by 3 points as well.

The Saints could release this pic the night of the draft

then pick him up in say the third round.

Just a thought.

Yeah

He has some questions to answer but I don't see him in the same stratosphere as Gregory/Foster/Williams etc
